Mine arrived the 9th but I was out of town. Got it monday (12th). Am updating as I type.

Found online to quick check the charge level, quick press and release of power button.

I don't know why I am afraid I will break it!

Got mine on the time promised and it was amazing...for about 3 days. I pulled it out to do a Skype call with my Dad, and I couldn't manage to get my pattern in the unlock screen properly. I thought I just had fat fingers at first, but after the 10th time, I figured maybe there were too many resources being taken up. Rebooted, same problem. Once I finally got it unlocked, I realized my touch screen was not functioning at all at the bottom 1/4" of the screen, otherwise known as the area where everything you want to use is.

Cleaned the glass thoroughly, still nothing. Rebooted three times, still nothing. Factory reset/wipe two times, still nothing. Called and left a message with NukoUSA, still nothing. Left an email with NukoUSA, still nothing.

Not. Happy.

Edit:
NukoUSA has responded to me and are sending a new tablet. Here's hoping it all goes well.

Update:
Dropped off with FedEx for shipping 12/15. Let's see how good the turn around time is.

Update:
They received today, 12/20/11 in Plano TX at 2:03pm. Claimed turn around time was 4 days from receipt of unit. Starting my stop watch.

Mine came with a scratch on the back and missing pixels in the screen. Sent it back to NUKO and they have largely been unresponsive. I hope I didn't send it to a black hole, but I'm glad I insured it.

My package had been stuck "In Transit" from smartpost for a few days. To make matter worst, I had another order from another site that left smartpost the same time and day and I had received it already. It prompted me to call smartpost and their response was "lost in transit". An email to woot told me to wait at least 10 business days before they would intervene.

I waited and lo-and-behold, there is movement on the package today. Will cross my fingers and hope that it will arrive in one-piece.

To those of you still waiting, there is hope.

Hoping someone is still checking these forums... Anyone have a case they recommend? I am a female and have been looking at this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005OFM6MG/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2V8T4MVN81PAN&me=&seller=&colid=38I497R1RZHTE but I just can't seem to pull the trigger. Suggestions?

If you read back a couple pages or so, people recommended some. I grabbed one of ebay.

Price seems reasonable. I bought a black leather one on eBay which came with a screen protector for $14 and change shipped. Looks like it offer about the same functionality based on the pictures. A case is definitely a very worthwhile investment.

I bought this case, which came in black, brown, red, pink and blue (I got blue). Fits great and shipped quickly. I think the pricing may be different for different colors, but I couldn't pass up the $11 price on this one.

(Edit: Weird...the URL in my preview window shows the correct link to Amazon, but when you click it live in the Community, it just reopens the community page?) Anyway, go to the mothership of Amazon and search on CaseCrown for Galaxy Tab and all the colors & prices will pop up.

Loved my Tab... while it worked. 7 days later and it's completely dead. Will try Nuko... and see what happens. Very disappointing.

I also purchased a cover plus screen protector, but mine came with a blutooth keyboard so I can set up my url's and accesses for work. About $30, but in my eyes, it's well worth the price - plus it works with the ACER tablet I also have.

Where did you buy from?

Mine arrived in Panama last week. Works fine but has the newton ring (oil slick)

Not much chance of returning it, as it will probably cost as much as getting it here in the first place.

Any of you guys have tried the recommended solutions (Hair dryer, fridge, moving to another country :D)

Mine had the oil slick. I called Samsung directly and gave them my serial, and they said it's still under warranty and I mailed it off to be repaired. I didn't expect that, but was pleasantly surprised.

Mine was finally opened for Christmas and its screen was wavy -- like a loose LCD cable or some kind of interference or something. Called NUKO, left them a voicemail. I'll see what they say when they get back to me. I'm pretty disappointed at the refurbishing process, Woot.

NUKO has had mine for 14 business days and is not responding to my calls. Have you had better luck than that?

I did, at least initially.

Let me first say I absolutely love this tablet. The screen is large and bright and performance is generally snappy.

However, the first unit I received had the dreaded "newton ring" so I sent it back to Nuko. Without warning, a new one arrived 3 days later! It came with an original manual and all new versions of the headphones and charging cable, so I viewed that as a win.

But then 3 days later I happened to notice that the bottom right screen corner was slightly raised above the bezel, as if it hasn't been attached properly. Other than that, it's working perfectly.

I wrote back to Nuko 5 days ago and haven't heard anything since (possibly because of the holiday - reasonable enough, I suppose).

My Squaretrade warranty kicks in on January 8th, so hopefully they can take care of it.

Weirdly enough, overall, I'm still fairly pleased, though.

Love the tablet, but it developed the oil slick problem last night. Did the fridge fix, but the problem returned this morning.

Thanks to your post, I also called up Samsung and was told my unit is still under warranty. I was on the fence on whether to call Samsung or NukoUSA. I decided with the manufacturer, Samsung and I hope that I made the right choice...

Do you mind sharing what number you have used to call Samsung?

Thanks

I just called Samsung Support 1-800-726-7864. FWIW My serial number was partially covered by a sticker and was difficult to read because of the tiny font. Samsung also provided an UPS label via email.

Mine started having screen freezes right out of the box. I finally got someone from the refurb company on the phone and just got the sad news that it is about a 2 week turn around. I offered to provide a credit card number so that one could be sent out ASAP, but was told that they were not set up for that. I would REALLY like to have a functioning model. In the end, probably not the greatest Christmas gift.

I'm also SUPER disappointed. Mine won't charge at all. I thought it might be a bad cable so I bought a new one to check. Still won't charge.

No answer at Nuko, no response to email. What can I do about this?

Sorry you're not able to get in contact with Nuko. When did you try contacting them last? They might be a little backed up because of the holiday.

I had a problem with oil slick called Samsung at 1-800-726-7864 shipping was covered and the unit was replaced with a new one in four business days, problem sucked but all together it was painless to fix. As long as this has fixed the issue I have no problem with Samsung

I also called in today and got an UPS label from Samsung.
When they returned it, was it a "new - sealed" one or just another "refurbished" one?

I ordered this on Nov 29 and still have not received it. Granted I live in Germany with an APO address, but still, over a month to get it to me? This was suppose to be one of my kid's Christmas presents. I'm a bit put off by the mail delay.

I just got my tab back from Samsung for the oil slick repair last night, and they replaced the display. The replacement screen says "Samsung" at the bottom that I believe wasn't there before.

Got the same unit back (left the refurbished stickers), but I had to reinstall all my apps and data. It took 4 business days after they got it (was shipped back to me via UPS 2nd day air).

Overall, I'm pleased with Samsung, but hope this problem does not re-occur like it did for some.

well my tablet had been working great for the past couple months. But came home the other day and it wouldn't turn on . The only charging cable I had was the 30 pin adapter to micro usb. But it wouldn't charge for some reason. Worked great up until recently.

So I went on amazon and Ordered a new oem cable as my original was left at my parents house after Christmas. When I first plugged the cable in the screen came on with an exclamation point. I left her plugged in and it eventually starting charging and eventually came on.

whew. it was quite a scare and will stick to oem cables only. I did go ahead and order the squaretrade 2 year 30% off for 62.xx so I will not freak out if anything happens again. And after reading all the problems a few have had I will feel much better knowing I have some extra coverage for my beloved android tablet.

good luck to all

Did anyone elses come pre-rooted/not wiped? I ordered two a few months back and one came rooted, plus had a picture of who I think was the previous owner, an episode of Boardwalk Empire, 3 movies, plus pictures of people working at the refurb factory. I'm not complaining, but I'm glad it's not my stuff that was left on there.

Last night it decided to take a crap. Wavy lines appeared on the right hand side. Turned it on and off, they came back. They get worse the longer it's on. I'm getting ready to put it in the fridge to see if that helps.

Can't believe I spent $314 on something that died in less than 6 months. Will Woot take it back since the Nuko warranty is up?

Is anyone out there????
