I know you wont get the Quality Post *I* think you deserve for that. I hope this makes up for it.

Hey woot, if you're going to split your products up topically how's about adhering to those topics, huh? that way i don't waste time trying to figure out why the Woot button took me to kids.woot

or at least put an mp3 player on kids.woot so i can assume it was just a clerical error and not deliberate

Met the guys that made these. They were really big into FIRST robotics. Gotta love their Victor 884 speed controllers.

You can check out their websites
http://www.innovationfirst.com/
http://www.hexbug.com/

Bought something like this on Woot! a while back, gave it to my younger brother as an xmas present last year. They're lots of fun to play with / watch. These also move that my sister's pet gecko tried to take a bite out of it...

If you get one, keep an eye out for clearance items in stores, sometimes you can grab nanobug parts at 75% off...

Rather surprised to see these here as anything Hexbug sells great at full price. I've sold 'em for several years and the Nanos are consistently the best selling toy we have.

The Habitat sets are sort of Habitrails for "robot" cockroaches instead of hamsters. It's an odd concept, but I sell 'em to all ages, from just-old-enough-not-to-eat-them to pushing 100. No lie.

The Battle Bridge set is the most popular, but all the sets hook together and add to the fun. I haven't been able to get these particular ones wholesale ... and they're under what my cost would be if they were in stock ... so I'm in for the max.

My kids got a bunch of these and the habitats last year from Santa.
Santa might have to pick up this set at this price

The same set on the Hexbug website sells for $49.99. This is a no-brainer; even if my nephews (6 and 8 and interested in Hexbugs) are getting this from someone else, Toys for Tots will be happy to have it.

I just returned a set at ToysRUs because apparently my wife got the wrong Hexbug on the BOGO half off sale and they wouldn't just swap it out. Now I (i mean, my son) will not be without his nano track for Chanukah.

I wanted one before I went to bed but tried to tell myself Christmas shopping was done. Then I decided if they were still here in the morning I'd get one. I'll just tuck it away for an emergency. With 6 kids, we're bound to have such a situation before Spring!

Target recently had this set on sale for $40 (normally $50). I ended up getting a similar set that was also on sale. This is a great deal for a very cool toy. My 5 year old nephew loves them and has several sets.

For those asking about Matchbox/Hot Wheels cars - these are much smaller. The tracks would probably work this Micro Machines if you remember those.

Yeah, but can they swim? Well, An article at I Heart Robotics posits that they can:

http://www.iheartrobotics.com/2010/01/upgrade-can-hexbug-nano-swim.html

I Heart Robotics even has a "hack" to add an LED light to these bugs so you can play with them in the dark! (Of course you have to be brave and bold and have some soldering skills)

http://www.iheartrobotics.com/2009/12/upgrade-led-hexbug-hack.html

My daughter will be getting this set for Christmas! Hey, it's a win-win for me!

If so, I don't know a way to do it; I paid shipping twice. I'm sure they make money off shipping.

I'll agree with that. This, and the fake bugs on kids.woot have to be some of the stupidest things I've ever seen. I'd rather buy an ant farm, and I hate ant farms. But at least THEY are educational. No random fake bugs moving for no specific purpose.
