Poll: Where are you likely to buy most of your gifts this holiday season?
  • 4.9% - IRL. I’m buying very specific things I want to look at first. 104
  • 44.2% - Online. Are you crazy? It’s cold out there! 933
  • 28.2% - I’ve got no preferences, whatever’s the cheapest works for me. 595
  • 8.9% - I’m not giving any gifts. Bah, humbug. 188
  • 13.9% - Wait, isn’t Santa taking care of all that for me? 293

Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

I voted "Wait, isn’t Santa taking care of all that for me?" except I need to substitute "Santa" with "my girlfriend". She does all the shopping, since she fits the women-love-to-shop stereotype and I fit the men-hate-to-shop stereotype.

I think that replacing 'shopping' with 'checking Woot! daily' might be apt in some cases.

Hmm..

a. Triple checking deals and reviews in sweatpants with a glass of wine
or
b. Running from store to store and then impulse buying that product when you know it's $5 cheaper at the other store you just left and then having to knock out the woman holding the last Black Friday deal in her grubby paws just to find the product was a renowned piece of crap.

This seems kinda like a "duh" question...

I HATE Christmas shopping! But I love Christmas. Trying hard to wean the little grandchildren off the orgy of opening dozens of gifts; hoping this year they will each settle for one thing really cool.
Why do I sense disaster?

Pottsville, Arkansas. Conveniently located on I-40 halfway between New York and Los Angeles.

I bought some things online and a few things in person plus made others. So where's the "mix" option? :-P

Unwrapping is half the fun! Maybe just get a few, inexpensive gifts along with the big ones? Things like slinkys, a fun card game, or even a Hot Wheel or two are really cheap, but still a lot of fun to the right age group. Plus they get to unwrap!

I'm not trying to encourage mindless buying, just depending on the age a slow wean is better then sudden stoppage.

Of course, those are just my own thoughts.

I got Amazon Prime this year, and the 2-day shipping will come in handy, up until Christmas Eve! Mostly, though, I'm going to give away a bunch of old woots, since I'm out of work right now. Screaming monkeys and wootoff lights for everybody!

Amazon gets my money all year long if I want something. I've been Prime since they introduced it. I have over 100 orders with them this year (not including digital content).
I someone in my family wants something for this holiday of greed, they better have an up to date wishlist.

It isn't cold around here, but I still prefer online shopping.

Still single, can't imagine why.

Unless your getting food items, number 2 and 3 are the same, I can't think of anything that you can't find cheaper online somewhere.
