Probably not through the facebook app. But the tablet does support flash, so it might work if you go to facebook through the browser. I don't even know if you can play those facebook flash games on the ipad, my guess is no though.

Motorolla has 50% off on its accessories even for xoom. Not sure when it ends though!

I bought mine the first time Woot sold them in July and my cat now occupies second place in my lap. She's totally jealous. It's a great game machine (I have Atari and SNES emulators installed), fantastic browsing machine, and plays videos and music just fine. If only it purred...

Any opinion on HP touchpad vs this zoom? I can buy a touchpad cheaper, but will it have the same support and upgrades?

Kinda sucks seeing this a week after I ordered the Galaxy Tab. Has anyone used both and have any comparison points to make?

Wooted this on the last go 'round (Nov. 10). Very happy with it - using it more than my laptop for reading, news (Pulse), email, Facebook, media share.

I have been wanting a tablet and think this is a good deal. My only concern is refurbished unit. I can get it NEW for $70 more. Would love to save cash but is it wise? Thoughts?

I've used the xoom. It's pretty nice, but these really are the same tablets specwise except for the extra 16 gigs of storage in the xoom. Both are running honeycomb as of now and both will eventually get the ice cream sandwich update. If you enjoy rooting and installing roms, you will have more options with the galaxy tab. Otherwise, it's a tossup and you can't go wrong with either tablet.

I was hoping this would come up again. I wanted a tablet for school, and it was between this and the Galaxy. The lack of USB and expandable storage on the Galaxy without shelling out extra money for adapters finally tipped the scales in the Xoom's favor. Can't wait to get it!

I bought the 32GB Touchpad during the fire sale. The OS is nice, but it's a dead end. You can install hacked Android ROMs on the Touchpad, but I'd rather run Android on a tablet designed to run Android. Also, the Touchpad is larger, thicker, and heavier than the Xoom, and the plastic back is much slicker than the Xoom's, so it's much less comfortable to use after a very short while. I genuinely think the Xoom is worth the extra money -- I use it daily but haven't picked up the Touchpad in days.

The warranty for this refurb is the same as a new unit. I've never had any problems with refurb items I've gotten from woot. Usually they come from the manufacturer in "like new" condition. Honestly most people can't even tell its a refurb except for a sticker or some time of marking that says refurbished on the back.

The biggest advantage with this one is the ability to unlock the bootloader, allowing you to root it easily (custom roms, overclocking, etc.).[/quote]

How?

Which tablet do you think would be better between the two (Samsung Galaxy vs. Motorola XOOM)?

The one year warranty is from Motorola. I bought two of these on the last sale, and one had an intermittent power supply cable, I called them up and they sent a replacement to me in five days, no problem. I hope I never have to use them for more than that, but at least I know they speak English and are helpful (the person I spoke to was in the Phillipines).

Okay, please bear with me, I'm gonna play the dumb girl card for a minute.

My husband is dying for a iPad for xmas. He has done his research and has narrowed between an iPad (either new or Best Buy refurb) or the Acer Iconia. He wants to use it to take notes during business meetings, play games, and watch movies.

Will he like this? Would this be an appropriate replacement for the other 2 he's already looked at? We have Android phones and he's really happy with that platform, but he has an old iTouch that he has really enjoyed and knows there is a lot available when its comes to Apple products.

I really appreciate your help. Thanks.

Well, the two tablets that he is interested in are completely different. I will make it easy for you. Since both of you have Android phones, are both comfortable with the platform, I would highly suggest picking this up for him. Movies are great, games (tons of them) and notes can be taken. Go for it. I suggest invisible shield and a otter box for it as well.

Gps works great IF you set it up while connected to internet. Once set up it works great as you go.

I know they are totally different. I think it was more of "ooh I want an iPad buuuuuut the Acer is more in our price range and would be just as functional."
