So, are there actually people using bots to get a Burgundy Olfactory Center or are people just unwilling to accept that they were not favored by the gods of Woot?

I myself have used wooters.us, though this time it was actually faster to just use woot. I was under the impression that people seem to think that others are using bots to actually buy the Bag of Coal for them.

I use wooters.us, and have scored the last 4 bags in a row. All it does is press the 'I want one' button as soon as it comes up. I still have to go through the whole purchase process like everyone else.
People are their own worst enemy hitting the F5 button, multiple tabs, etc.
Here's the trick: Click 'I want one'...wait...wait...wait... enter your cc info, click 'Buy it'....wait....wait....wait Click the stupidly large button....wait....wait....wait Done.
Never F5 until the browser gives up waiting. Then, F5 ONCE and wait it out again.
Think about it like this: It's like people waiting in line to get a black friday deal. The F5ers are constantly sending themselves to the back of the line over and over. Once you're in the queue, stay there and be patient.

Does the word 'BBQ' describe the appliance on which you cook, or the food that is produced on said appliance?

dbcooper wrote:The term 'BBQ' is not a verb, and it does not describe anything you cannot eat.
The Great Oracle disagrees on both points, though I myself say BBQ grill:
The term as a noun can refer to the meat, the cooking apparatus itself (the "Barbecue grill" or simply "Barbecue") or to a party that includes such food or such preparation methods. The term as an adjective can refer to foods cooked by this method. The term is also used as a verb for the act of cooking food in this manner.

And it's usually in the afternoon (1-3pm MST) of the last day of the Woot-off.

Yeah, it's mind boggling to see people complaining that they couldn't get the BOC because they couldn't log in. Further, I always click on "I want one!"; click "I want 2", "I want 3", and "I want 1"; enter my security code; click "this info is correct"; then abort by clicking "today's woot" in order to make sure any common images and scripts included in the pages are cached.
I don't think that getting in immediately is as important as people think. I got this last BOC when my wife came into the garage and said "I think your alarm is going off".
Sure, you can't wait minutes but at the very most being First Click is only going to get the first page before the self-inflicted DDOS attack hits. It's really more-or-less of a crap shoot whose IP packets are received and whose are dropped. I think most people take themselves out of the running by ill-timed F5's.
