scottybox wrote:I'm pretty sure FedEx Home Delivery is FedEx Ground; the slowest, cheapest method available. Still, within a week we should have them.

From personal experience, FedEx "SmartPost" is the slowest/cheapest. To get from TX to here (Abq NM) they go to Denver CO first (and sit around for a few days); then they come to Albuquerque & get handed off to the post office & a day or 2 later they get delivered.

SmartPost uses a "whenever convenient" style of routing and usually take 10-12 calendar days to get here (one state away from TX). FedEx home usually gets here in about half that time.

Edit/Update: my FedEx tracking now shows a delivery date: Dec 16, 2011.

Now i'm bummed out. I wooted on moofi for the Samsung Galaxy tablet on December 8th, but no tracking yet (yes, I know it's only the 4th working day), but this tablet from only 2 days ago sold on woot is already shipping?

I knew I should have pulled the trigger on this one too.

Just got my tracking number through an email from Woot. Estimated delivery is this Saturday, so most likely it's not coming via SmartPost. Thank Jah for that too.

I am a first time tablet buyer, have you rooted your Vizio? If so, how?
Does the memory get full so quickly that you have to delete apps in order to install new ones?
What's the best place to buy the 32 GB card?

What price did you get the Galaxy for? Reviews tell me that is a better buy than Vizio?

My purchase was for a refurbished Samsung Galaxy, 16GB 10.1" tablet, for 324.99 with shipping included. It's double the price of the Vizio, but it is a dual processor too. It also appears you'll get the Vizio before my Galaxy ships.

Delivery is scheduled for Saturday. So FedEx delivers on Saturday? Do they require a signature? I don't think they do but someone reassure me please as I may be out shopping that morning/afternoon.

FedEx 'Home' does Saturday. As for a signature, I think that depends on your area. They never need one from me unless it's wine, they'll just leave other woot packages on the front step, often times they don't even bother knocking.

My tracking updated... FedEx seems to be a lot more confident in their shipping than I am:

[img]www.piercedgeek.net/pics/FedExMagic.JPG[img]

So yeah, left TX today, estimated delivery today, currently "On Schedule"

I can see them making it the ~800 miles and getting to CO today, but I just don't think it'll make it through their sorting facility, on to a truck, and to my door today.

If it comes Fedex Home, then it will be delivered on Saturday. In my area, Smartpost packages usually get handed off to USPS...which currently also delivers on Saturday.

Amazon seems to be the best option. I picked up a Sandisk 32G card for about $34 w/free shipping. In the reviews for that card one of the reviewers specifically mentions using it in this Vizio tablet plus Sandisk is one of the most reliable brands.

Mine's scheduled to be delivered tomorrow - now I know what I'll be doing this weekend....

I'm new to the Andriod world.
I'd like to move some music from my Win7(64)PC to the Vizio via an 8gig microSD card. Will Windows recognize the tablet or must I manually install PC drivers?
Thanks

I've used a few Android phones, and in those cases, when you plug in the phone, you can select charge only, or mount SD card as a drive (exact name of the options may vary depending on ROM/version) and it'll mount the SD card just like you connected a thumb drive. I'm 99% sure that tablets will act the same way.

oh one more thing, just so there's no confusion, the option to do charge/mount is on the device notification bar, not on your computer screen

on the sd card is where you put a file called music and the copy your music to that loction

I just take the sd card out and put in my computer and create the folder and install that way

You have one of these? I had read somewhere that they made it so part of the internal memory showed as an SD card to Android, is it true that when you move apps to SD it'll only go to the faked internal SD card (limited to 2 GB) and not to the one you insert in to the SD slot?

My understanding is the SD is used for music, videos and the like. Apps are placed on the 2 remaining internal 2gb.

Got mine a few hours ago and I've been playing with it all evening. Charging is taking a very long time (while I use it). Otherwise it works great and looks new. Well, it looked new -- now it's got fingerprints all over it. This little thing may be a single-core device, but it's very peppy. The screen is nice and has a decent enough viewing angle for my non-video-watching needs. No complaints so far.

And thanks to Woot for getting these things out so fast. You guys rule!

That's kinda underwear, but I guess I'm unlikely to need more than 2 GB for apps.

Still very excited to get them! FedEx updated the status, ETA went from 12/15 to 12/16, at least it's in the same state now.
