Just so everybody knows, contrary to some peoples popular belief, this thing only has half a gig of ram and a single core 1ghz processor. less than half of the speed of the touchpad
this is something id buy my mother, not myself.

$76 Savings over Sam's Club. My son has had one for 6 weeks and it works great. We paid $200 plus $40 for the case. Woot is a great deal. This is a quality product, runs everything, Andriod Market, software updates are offered from Vizio, touch screen works perfectly, runs Flash, great speakers. Not a single complaint.

I get a lot of things via SmartPost, usually shipped FEDEX initially. When I track SmartPost items at the FEDEX tracking website, I find they often sit in a FEDEX facility for days, but once turned over to the USPS they are delivered mostly the next day, and never more than two days later. I also notice that FEDEX indicates an anticipate delivery date way longer than is reasonable, and I always get is sooner than they predict UNLESS they have held it at one of their facilities for days as happened with a recent shipment (5 days with no movement by FEDEX).

Try actually tracking your items (use detailed tracking at FEDEX) and seeing who sits on your package. You will find it is NOT the USPS. FEDEX will also give you the USPS tracking number so once they turn it over to the USPS you can see how long they take to get it to you. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I could go on at length on things the Fire lacks, but bottom line is that the Fire is not for someone who really wants an android tablet, it is for someone who wants to consume Amazon content. Its a fine product but it is really just a souped up media player.

Very well stated. The only real advantage the Kindle Fire has on this is the processor. In virtually every other category the Visio wins out. The most glaring differences in my opinion:
Fire lacks a Micro SD slot, has only 8 GB built-in flash
Fire has no devices onboard--No camera, gravitometer, GPS, light sensor.

Last night when I bought one it said it wouldn't be delivered before Christmas, but this morning it says it will? Make up your mind! Does it mean the ones who buy one now will receive one before those who did in the beginning?

Picked one of these up from Costco two weeks back, tablet froze 4 min after initial setup. Started working again a few hours later, then froze again after 10 mintues of use. Returned to Costco, and the cashier said a lot of people had been returning them due to freezes. Not a quality product, and not worth buying.

Sadly, I have found this to be true as well.
As a UPS employee, I can tell you that UPS also processes Smartpost packages and we actually process them very quickly. However, any NewEgg items I buy that ship with "super saver" shipping always go via Fedex surepost which always takes at least a week to go from California to Nevada. UPS ground gets to me from NewEgg in a single day

Yes. As long as you have a wifi router, You will be able to use it. Also this is not 3G enabled, so there is no need for any mobile connection.

Yeah but they are Logitech which means they will work forever and if they dont, Logitech has the best customer service/warranty replacement on the planet imo. If this Vizio was $59 I might bite for the IR blaster. But these things get horrible reviews. So it better be new for 59.

Pros: The pills were there.
Cons: So was the tank.

Okay, I've been biting my fingers and dying to get the Galaxy or Xoom or any of the tablets that have been cropping up here recently, but I couldn't, couldn't, couldn't pull the trigger. Finally saw this and it's the right size (my Kindle gets dragged everywhere, while the iPad I've played with in the store seems an awkward size) and it has an HDMI outlet! Since I'd been considering how to get Netflix, youtube, and Hulu on my TV without tying up my husband's laptop (we are forgoing cable as we end up wasting money and time that way), this seemed like an excellent choice as we have an older, non-internet wired DVD and TV, and the Roku doesn't do regular Hulu or youtube as far as I can tell.

So we'll be able to let the kids watch their Fraggle rock or I can watch my Daily Show any time of the day without my husband looking frustrated that he can't get online or using my desktop! Also, it's a nice intro price for tablets, so if we really want bigger, better, faster, we won't feel horrible about the money spent. We have family who will love to take it off our hands if we upgrade.

I wish I could afford the risk that my parents and his could figure this sucker out. This could be fantastic for them or it could be an expensive paperweight. Ugh. Oh well, one for us anyway!

I hope it does come for Xmas, but if not it's still good.

Misc Technical Notes
1. While this tablet could run ICS, it is very unlikely that the manufacturer will release ICS for this device. However, it is quite likely that an Android developer that happens to own one of these will release an unofficial ICS build for this device. Of course, you would have to first root the tablet before you could install a custom build, so depending on your "hacking" comfort level, you might want to find someone to install it for you.

2. As far as how this tablet would fare performance-wise to an HP Touchpad or Kindle fire, the answer is the Vizio would be noticeably slower than both. The Vizio has a 1 Ghz single core processor. The TP and Fire both have dual core processors--The touchpad runs each core at 1.2 Ghz and the Fire runs them at 1 Ghz.

3. Based my experience with Android USB support, as long as you connect the tablet to a powered USB hub, pretty much any mouse or keyboard supporting HID (which is pretty much all mice and keyboards) should work perfectly, as well as any USB enabled flash or hard disks.

Not sure if this has USB host (master) mode, simply having a usb port does not guarantee you can use peripherals, so you will want to check more if that is what you need it for.

So tempted, but with mixed reviews I am just not sure. I really feel like I need to get some hands on time to see how I feel before being in for a few. I wouldn't mind getting my kids one each, but this is a little higher than the price point I am confortable with getting it 'just to see'. I'll have to think about it and figure it out before the sell out due to the shipping change.

Let's see the quality impulse buys!
