I saw the bag link almost right away after seeing it was another trick by woot, I actually go through in just a few seconds.

Am I the only one who notices that the first wooter on any sack of poop sale almost never posts in the comments threads?

I think I've only seen that happen once and the poor guy got a ton of crap because everyone assumed he used a bot. (I don't remember if he did or not, but he had a good sense of humor about it.)

Am I the only one who fully anticipated that woot was going to hide the link in the item description? It seems like everyone was disappointed there was no crap and then surprised to find the link, but they've done this before. When I saw the laptop the first thing I did was scroll down and look for the link; I knew they wouldn't let us down.

Like buddha156, I got through very quickly. I thought I had a shot at being the first to woot.

I haven't seen any letters lately, not since TPW left. Maybe the recipients just don't want to share. I'm ready for the standard crap, but I hope someone gets and posts a spectacular bag again. Otherwise the crap legends of old will turn in to crap myths.

Saw the bag link pretty quickly but then tons of 503 errors and was about ready to call it quits. Tried everything to bypass the dreaded 503s - tried to back in thru wine woot, tried the links in the woot daily digest, tried chrome instead of IE. Don't think my efforts made a bit of difference but it kept me occupied until the 503s disappeared and my christmas was crappy indeed.

I can't wait for my craptastic bag. I have been watching unboxing videos on youtube to keep me from checking my email every minute to see if I get a shipping confirmation.

TPW left? Man I haven't bought anything in a while. When and why did TPW leave?

I thought that I might be first as well. I managed to get through all of the order screens amazingly fast and had a confirmation e-mail time stamped 12:01am. I spent about 10 minutes trying to get into the forum after that, but kept getting the 503 errors, so I headed off to bed. I probably got my $8 worth in being able to sleep rather than fight with 503 errors for 30+ minutes. If nothing else, I'm sure my F5 key is thankful of being spared...

I remember that, people tore him apart thinking he used a bot. I personally didn't think it was humanly possible to complete a purchase in the time he did, but he insisted he did it himself. Maybe that is why the first wooter sits out the discussion.

It's been two years since I've managed to score a Burgandy Olfactory Center but I managed it this year. I was on the verge of giving up, I had gotten ready for bed and decided to try refreshing one last time and BEHOLD, the 503 errors had stopped.

I thought the narrow window had slipped by when I accidentally knocked the cord that delivers sweet, sweet internet to my computer but I still managed to get in before they sold out.

A much happier year for me than last where I tried for nearly an hour only to be greeted with a SOLD OUT screen after having made it to the stupidly large button twice.

45 min and 8 bucks later I have purchased the joy of anticipation for the next 2-3 weeks, it doesn't matter what's in the box. Though I will be a bit sad if I don't get any bagged Texas air.

I wasn't begging, I was hoping. I am very happy I was able to get one at all, much less 2 in a row . Sorry if that didn't come out as it should have.

mikebbass wrote:OK Wooters, given that 2012 is fast approaching, what are your predictions for the end of the world as dictated by the Mayans?

I am going to say that we will see the zombiegeddon and it will be kicked off by tainted "special sauce" on McDonalds Big Macs.

I think that it will be like all the other end-of-the-world predictions: there will be a lot of hype and then nothing will happen.

However, I'm betting there will be a big earthquake, volcanic eruption, or solar flare just prior to December 21 as a coincidence that will freak everyone out.

I'm really hoping woot has mocking items leading up to the date, like MREs and generators. Then either a BOC or something hilarious on the 21st.

I just love the 2012 end of world stuff

I can see it, thousands of years ago a couple of poor Mayans who were the calandar carvers. They carved and carved and carved. They carved day and night for days, months, years.

One day carver #1 finally said, "well that should be enough carving for now."

Carver #2 "I agree, its not like in 2012 when the calandar runs out people will be stupid enough to think the world is ending!"

Carver #1 "Yep, no one would be that dumb, what, did they expect us to make these pretty calandars for ever!"

Carver #2 "Sounds good to me, lets go get some bacon."

(side note, I am also assuming Mayans invented Bacon)
