Maybe the video needs closed cattioning?

just ordered one to use in my office to monitor clients, patients as well as staff. I am hoping the resolution is at least decent - though I am getting it more to just have a "presence".

I use a program called "IP Cam Viewer for Android Devices". It works very well for monitoring all my home security cameras. While I don't have this specific security system, the software is highly configurable and I'd be surprised it it didn't work with this DVR (once it's connected to your network).

Can a flash drive (thumb drive) be used to record video?

No. In fact, they won't even record through a window. The IR illumination bounces back and totally washes the picture out when close to a window/glass, and at a distance it's just a bright hot spot in the center of the image.

It looks like your orders are with our vendor and they should be shipping out soon. We'll send you the tracking once it is available.

got mine this morning and plugged everything in and then find out that each camera needs a seperatre hard wired power line to from an external source... power not supplied via the main box. for me that isnt such a big deal, the previous owners of my house just happened to leave the exact power box i need. But for some people this may be an issue. This unit is useless without an RCA power connection... kind of dissapointing. but for $180 i really can't complain.

Just got my system and it seems to be up and running but some strange things are happening... After it boots, I am able to connect once to view the various streams using my iPhone (I have not been able to get any app on my mac to work at all, so far). After I stop viewing the stream, it never connects again it just hangs on Connecting.... This is with APlayer and CPlayer both... Also, after the first successful attempt, the users seem to be wiped out as well... When I hit the menu button to log in using the front panel on the DVR, the user drop-down is empty and there are no users at all until I power off the DVR and turn it back on.

Any thoughts/insights?

I received my Zmodo 8 channel unit today. Installing and initializing the hard drive was easy as expected. When trying to configure the unit it is asking for a password for "admin". The docs don't list a default password and none of the typical passwords allow me in. Was this a used unit that someone else had already set up? What's up Woot/Zmodo? IS there a default admin password?

Zmodo chat was prompt even at midnight! Within three minutes their tech person told me to try "666666" and it worked. They said this is not in the documentation so I thought I'd share it here in case others have the same issue with their "new" Wootified Zmodo DVR system.

I received and setup my cameras last night. Only 4 of the video channels work for me (1-4). channels 5-8 won't show anything. I switched out working cams so i know it's not just bad cams.

Also some of the bnc connectors do not sit well. Channel 3's connector is just pushed on, can't get it to turn and lock.

Its supposed to come with a 9 port power supply for camera....mines is missing it too. Chatted online with zmodo, they said they will look into it. Not only that, the dvr unit seems to be refurbished as there were no screws holding the cover onto the unit.

Did you get a power supply for each camera?

i just looked @ mine...

i got 2 power supplies, one of them also had an "octopus"-like 9 way splitter.

my dvr box also did not have any screws holding it in place, but i had a separate plastic bag with hard drive screws and screws to close the dvr case. i give it the sniff test... it smelled like brand new electronics so i don't think mine is refurbished. they probably didn't connect the cover to the dvr because they are aware that the end buyer needs to put in a hard drive. that's my guess at least. i just got a 1 tb 7200 for $68 on amazon 2 nights ago, not sure if still availible. (Hitachi Deskstar 3.5" 1TB 7200RPM SATA II 16MB Cache Internal Hard Drive 0S00163). if anyone needs a hard drive, i think that is a pretty good deal.

These were supposed to come with the better CM-C21606BK cameras. The Zmodo rep even posted in here that they came with the best cameras Zmodo has placed on WOOT. Mine came with the lower resolution CM11306BK cameras.
I have not gone any further in looking at it as I would not have purchased this if I’d have known the cameras were the lower resolution ones. I purchased a previous model a year or so back and we ended up replacing the all the CM11306BK cameras due to failures or not clear enough to use. I saw good reviews on the model supplied with this WOOT so I bought one for my own house.

FYI -- the boxes containing the cameras i received have the following on the end label:

Zmodo
Color IR Outdoor Bullet Camera
Model: CM-C11306BK
SKU#: CM-21606BK

the label on the camera itself includes the same information as above.

If you would, please double check all the packing stuff first just in case. If you still find its not there, contact Zmodo for the missing part. If you encounter any problems, contact service@woot.com for assistance.

Guess I am not the only one missing the camera power supply. However, Zmodo online support was pretty good and prompt....they said they would send out the missing power supply. Hope it gets to me soon want to check out the vid quality.
Putting in the hard disk was no problem, however my hard disk seems to be continuosly spinning. Something wrong with my hd or is it supposed to be this way?

Is everyone receiving the lower resolution cameras? The CM-C21606BK should have a 480 line resolution vs 420 for the other lower quality ones some are claiming to have received.

I would appreciate some clarification from zmodo.

I noticed a lot of people are having this problem. I thought I had the same problem as well, and then I checked the second box of cameras and low and behold, the power supply for all of the cameras was hiding in there. So if you think you don't have the 8 way power splitter for the cameras, check the second box and make sure it's not hiding there.

I got mine hooked up over the weekend, hard drive installation was simple as can be, my cover wasn't held on with screws either, don't know if this means it was refurbished or not, but so far it doesn't matter, the system is working well and remote viewing was pretty simple to setup. If you enable the email alarm detection you will receive an email with a jpg snapshot of what caused the alarm. With 8 cameras, and motion detection that is set off by so much as a spec of dust however, my inbox was quickly flooded with emails, so i turned it off. Also, if you're like me and you ISP blocks smtp traffic on port 25, you can configure port triggering on your router to enable traffic on smtp to be forwarded to the proper port ala 465 for something like ssl gmail.

Also, I can't for the life of me figure out how to get remote viewing on my android phone, internet explorer works fine, does anyone have any ideas on android phones?

I use IP Cam Viewer Lite for Android

And it is working for me....... Until it doesn't work....

Every time i can't connect with Ip Cam Viewer lite I go to the DVR and try to log in. No user accounts are in the drop down. I have to restart the DVR and then everything starts working again. Not good if as soon as i leave the house this happens, then all day i can't view the feeds.

Same here. Plus there's a little card with each camera with the specs, and it says 480 lines.

Does anyone know how to view the camera's from a android device. I have tried IP cam viewer lite with no sucess. I have went into the dvr changed the http port to 32568(and then went to virtual servers and port forward that port with the dvr's ip address) and I set the dvr for static Ip of my router of 192.168.2.2 and then I go to IP Cam Viewer and put my outside ip address of 98.???.??.??(< not gonna let everyone see it) and the http port number in and still no luck. I have also went to IE and did the 192.168.2.2 and the web viewer doesn't come up. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

My settings for IP Cam Viewer Lite:

Add Camera Type: IP Camera, DVR, NVR
Make: Zmodo
Model: Zmodo DVR-8104UV Mobile Port (tried others but they didn't work for me.)
Host/IP: "Your IP address"
Mobile Port: default is 8888 if you didn't change it on your DVR
(note there are 3 different ports. HTTP, Mobile, and Server)
Ch# whichever camera you want to view
User: admin (wouldn't work with other accounts for me)
Pswd: 666666 (if you haven't changed it)

As long as you port forwarded 8888 in your router these settings should work. I forwarded all of them to be safe.
