Hi all,

GEG here filling in for Cruzer. He's got a fever and bad head cold. I told him he should get a flu shot this year, but why would he listen to his wife? I'm waiting for my told you so to make sure that I don't get it next. Wish us luck!

Yup! Lots of sneezing and coughing grossness. I thought he was playing it up a lot at first, making it seem worse than it is, but I think he's really sick... There's a blanket on the new couch mostly to keep the dog fur off, but currently it's doing double duty.

No flu shots here either. I probably should get one since I work at the school, but Ver1 and Ver2 are both allergic to egg whites, and those are in the flu shot. Not really an option. I don't react particularly well to it either, but not allergic.

everyone else in the family should be vaccinated, if they can't take the vaccine. At least that way they can get some of the 'herd protection' by the rest of you not being infective.

I 'always' take my flu shot. If 'always' means that it is convenient and easy and provided at work. I've had one the last 3 years for sure. Skipped a few other years here and there.

Sympathy to GEG and Cruzer--I'm sick as well, but just sinus stuff, not the flu. I get the shot--free and on campus. And, well, considering the darned thing is MADE here...Seems silly not to.

Weather channel says it is 8, feels like -6.

Damned cold. Glad it's not as windy as it was yesterday.

Same here, though I've been a little more intentional about getting signed up for the free one at work ever since we got in the baby business.

Does new girlfriend live in your area or up where he was in school? Guess I'm really asking if gf is going to always be coming to stay for days or weekends if it's a long distance relationship? Be annoying to not be able to be in jammies when you want to chill.

Son moves back in a few weeks. We do have the cat now.

Good idea. If he's taking sleepy type cold meds he might not even feel the smack.

Well he's done it before so I guess he knows what to expect. At least you wont' have her there 24/7.

Does anyone here or maybe your parents have a medicare advantage plan instead of a supplemental medicare plan? Choosing an insurance plan for my aunt is driving me nutty. When having to choose for my parents years ago it was easier with the help of their doctor and financial planner. That's not working this time around for my aunt.
