Hubby was pre diabetic and lost 10 pounds and it went away.
His dad is diabetic and was just normal overweight (30 lbs?) when he first got it. The weight didn't make a difference. He is exactly the right weight now, but still uses insulin.

Hubbies problem is he loves carbs.

I'm out of the diabetics range with medication (not insulin) and improved diet, the same with b/p. Chloresterol is due to diet alone (no meds).

On another topic, I just got back from the doc and diabeties,blood pressure and chloresterol are all under control.I've lost 30+ lbs. since November. I want to lose 10 more and I'll be right where I want to be.

congrats on the weight loss! BTW - you aren't sharing!!

I'm back on track. Lost 2 lbs last week. Figured it out and I lost just under 40 lbs last year. Still have a ways to go though.

I gained back 2/3's of what I lost walking Rusty.

It is his fault!

He wanted to walk all the time and would stay out forever, no matter what the weather....except in the summer.

Now, we go less than a mile and he is looking down the blocks that go home.

Before 2 to 4 miles a day.
Now, 2/3 to 2 miles a day, with way more 2/3 days than 2+

Tonight it is raining. He will be happy going up to the park and home.
Not when he was younger!

This is a good idea. Yes, he's falling back to regroup, but he needs to get motivated to move on with his life, and if he really falls you'll be a lot more forgiving than a traditional landlord.

Wow, just had a 45 minute nap in my office chair. Usually when I do that, it's only about 15 or 20 minutes.

Good evening everyone. Procedure for SIL now scheduled for Thursday. They had hoped to do a chemo today because he hss been off for 3 weeks due to bloodwork. However, they did not do it because the counts were still too high. The wait it awfully difficult. I had not realized that today was hopefully a chemo instead of the stenting. Wish I were there - but at this point I would be more in the way I fear. Weather continues to be great here during the day - mid 70's and sun again. Traffic is horrid = so many tourists = so little space.

Klozit, thinking of you. And you're right, you'd probably be more trouble right now. It'd be different if you lived there and daughter could use you when she needed you, but as a visitor/guest, that wouldn't work.

Daj, Castle was pretty good. But I think maybe next week is a repeat.

Glad it was good. I got permission to watch it without Orc - don't want to commit DVD-adultery - so that will be my guilty pleasure for the week. Besides, I'm a Nielsen house this week... nothing like having a major power outage and the most abnormal week in a long stretch to be "representative of the area" or whatever.
