Good morning everybody! It's a pretty morning in Seattle, and the sun is peeking through some fluffy clouds (I'm looking over the top of my cube out the window). It's kinda quiet as people haven't really rolled in yet, and I'm hoping agingdragqueen brings in her dog when she shows up (because it is very cute).

That said, I'm going to see how much I can get done before I have to put my earbuds in to drown out chatter and noise.

KtC - tough call on the laptop. with as much wrong as you described, I'd lean towards replacing. Or maybe, rather than doing all of the updates to make it really nice, just fix the bare minimum to get by for a few months, and then replace it altogether and turn the old one over to the kids.

Yes, the 7th. Wish it has been the 31th. The sun is shinning after lots of rain yesterday and the day before. If it had been snow we would have looked like Nome.

Good morning. Afternoon, as I just checked my clock. Sort of cloudy day after bright morning.
Hope all is going well - or as well as it can possibly be - for everyone.

Latest bloodwork for SIL did not show the improvement that was hoped for; he has another consult with the oncologist tomorrow and they will test again. I hear the discouragement in his voice and read it in his emails - just slightly - but I know the pressure for him is just awful.

Moving an isp is AWFUL. When comcast goes away, norton goes with it. So, tried to download Verizon's McAffee after having removed norton (comcast is still running, because it stays active until I turn in the equipment tomorrow). It would not install - told me to clear items I don't have - or that I cannot find such as "avira firewall." So I gave up for the day - don't need the aggravation to continue for any more hours than it has! D/l microsoft security until I can determine what I should or need to do. Any suggestions? I guess I will need to do the same on my other 2 computers also. Blasted technology that I simply do not understand. I love this desktop which is 8 years old and it has run out of RAM pretty much - or at least it flashes me that message every day or so. It does not seem to matter how much I delete either. Oh well, shopping is the answer. Back later. Hope everyone has a really great day!

Oops, discovered this morning my driver's license expired on my birthday last month. Went to the BMV, sat for about ten minutes, they called number 94. I was 100. Sat for another ten minutes. They made the announcement the computers were down statewide, no idea if they'd come back up in five minutes or five hours. Got their phone number and went shopping. Called them an hour later, yes, they're up, but they're going up and down. Decided to try tomorrow.

Went to Walgreens to get the shingles vaccine. Doing the touch screen check-in, there's two patients ahead of me, 25 to 30 minutes per patient. No way. Tried to make an appointment for Monday and the screen wouldn't advance.

Decided the way the day was going I'd better go home because sure as hell a cop was going to stop me for something and ticket me for an expired license.

walking through Sam's club on lunch break picked up a RockBand3 bundle (keyboard + game) on clearance for $20, marked down from $130. Heck of a deal. Just one problem -- all the rest of my rockband games, gear, and extra songs are on the PS3 system.

I still don't have RB3 or a keyboard yet for the PS3, and I've been thinking about getting it and a new set of controllers (I'm still limping along with the buggy original hardware). So, do I jump systems and get a new set for the Wii, and forget about the previous investment in the PS3? Or do I try to flip the Wii bundle to some sucker for a quick little profit?

I hate having my eyes dilated.

I always check ahead of time because I have someone drive me. I think it's too dangerous, even with sunglasses. Last time it was done, several hours later I drove to a friend's house with no problems. When I left there it was dark and, wow, thought I was in Las Vegas. Huge arcs around every light and reflection of light.

Yeah, I was ok coming home, but have a hair appointment that will be...less than fun. But my eyes don't adjust right at night, so it's not as big of a change. Took out contacts, much better with my glasses on.

All you really have to do is find out where they want to be scratched. Ears, butt, tummy. Once you know that , they are your friend.
If you can add food....well then you totally have them!

I think that works for people too...it's just not as easy get people to let you scratch them.
