Back from Atlanta. I really liked the surgeon. Surgery will be outpatient and only last about an hour. The surgeon was very reassuring and calm. He had already read my chart before he came in the room. Surgery will be 2/28 with pre-op the day before. We will spend the night in Atlanta because I have to check in at 5:30am for 7:30 surgery. Most people don't need pain meds by the next morning.

Sounds like you're pretty comfortable with the process as explained to you.

Okay - it's a big adjustment for me having someone here all the time. She's at work tonight though. Gave me a little time to myself.

I basically have a cat, a dog and an 18 year old who follow me from room to room otherwise. LOL

I have a lot of organizational work to do this weekend so that things don't seem so crowded in here.

I baked a cherry crumb so Dougall could take pictures of it. Ooo, the shiny!

Edit: still staging. I need another drink. The crumb hasn't even been cut yet.

Edit2: cuts have been made. Product sampled. Not bad. A slice is being posed..

I'm still trying to eat healthy. I weighed in today, loss last week was 1.4 lbs.

Total loss so far this year is 8.8 lbs.

Since this is to enter a contest, I'm not sure when or if the pictures will be available to post elsewhere.

But the cherry crumb is good. I think I like it better than the blueberry crumb the recipe was based on. Switched it because he wanted something red. Cherries aren't quite as red as expected, since I used real ones instead of pie filling. Next time, if it's for pix, will use canned stuff and sacrifice the taste.

Just remembered, I have some bing cherries in the fridge. Good.

Nothing better than a sour cherry pie.

I used to pick those when I was a teenager. Better than picking sours because the trees were only about 10 feet tall. Better to eat than the sours, too.

Morning everyone. Was warmish when I went to bed around midnight (probably 70ish) and really chilly (for us) this AM. No storm or anything, just got unexpectedly colder. February is usually not a good month to come to Florida - very unpredictable (ible, able, uble?) We used to come down from New England on February break to Disney, but always knew to bring warm jackets.
