Yep I got mine too. it looks new however the canister has a few scuffs on the outside everything else was in good shape. I am pleased so far. I can deal with a few scuffs and save a few hundred bucks!

Thanks!

I have bought 5 refurbished units. They have all preformed great. I wish I did not buy my first one new and spent the extra money. I love the Dyson products!

If you vacuumed anything wet you might get that smell, try cleaning the hepa filter and the canister real good. I have had mine for 7 years and no smells. but I clean it good once a year.

I don't know exactly how much it weighs but it's not real heavy. My wife loves it. It is heavy enough though to push down on the carpet and get it clean without just skimming over the top.

Manually wrap, The retractable cord reels are just something else to break IMHO.

Was the vacuum cleaner in a Dyson box or did it come in a generic brown box?

What an epic piece of crap. I'm horribly pissed off. I just vacuumed my whole house with this thing and hardly got anything in the canister. Sensing it wasn't doing a good job, I vacuumed again with my 10 year old Hoover and filled 1/4 of the canister.

Hardly any suction can be felt pulling the vacuum down toward the carpet. I'm driving right over things and it takes 2-3 tries to pick it up. The brush doesn't have enough pressure on the carpet either. This whole vacuum feels cheap cheap cheap. Cheap plastic crap. Every time I change directions, something down on the handle somewhere leaks air.

I also hate that you can put the handle almost all the way to the floor and it doesn't pick the head up. Now how do I get it on top of the rugs without eating them up?

What a regret. I should have listened to my friends that told me Dyson was junk, but I fell for the hype.

With a 23# huge package, its going to cost me 1/4 of the price to return it.

SOOOOOO MAD!!!!!!!!!

The only thing I have good to say about this thing is it light and quieter than my old Hoover, although the sound is much more high pitched and annoys me much more.

Mine was supposed to be delivered yesterday. Checked the shipping info, and it's out for delivery today "On Schedule.". Of course, anything will be "On Schedule" if you push back the delivery date! Hopefully I get it today.

Got mine and no issues. I did notice a huge thing of silicone underneath the horizontal filter under the canister.

Sorry your vacuum sucks, erm, doesn't suck. If you haven't already, please email us at service@woot.com. Another option is to contact Dyson to see if they can help you with some troubleshooting.

Anyone missing a clamp on the bottom of the dyson where the intake hose connects to the body? Mine arrived with the intake hose detached.

So I was so excited to open my box and start using my new DC33 (replacing my four year old trusty DC14). I turn it on, and it immediately starts making that loud, high-pitched grinding noise. It won't stop, and nothing is obstructing the beater bar. The DC14 makes this noise on occasion when there is something stuck in the beater bar, or if I hit the vacuum too hard against a piece of furniture. I got the DC33 so that I didn't have to listen to this awful noise again. My carpet is low pile, and already clean from my old Dyson, so I got a lemon. Beyond disappointed. I've never had a problem with refurbs before this.

For what it's worth, my DC33 arrived packed in a plain cardboard box with a DC33/refurbished sticker on the end. Opened it up and couldn't find any evidence that the unit had ever been used to pick up any dirt before. Working great and, if there ever was supposed to be some sort of "clamp" on the lower air hose I don't have one, but I think the tension wire of the hose is used like a thread of a screw to keep the hose attached down there. The worst I could say about my model is that is had a few plastic scuffs from the cardboard packaging rubbing on it during shipping.

Thank you woot, I've been waiting for the DC33 to be on here for a while (I just don't like the idea of the ball, I prefer my vacuum to not pivot and flop about while using it).

Mine is doing the same thing. Checking in the owners manual it seems like the clutch to engage the brush bar is broken. The hard-wood floor setting works, but switching to carpet mode and tilting back causes the grinding noise.

I'll probably be contacting Dyson tomorrow to get a replacement. So much for my first woot purchase.

Compared this DC 33 to my Dyson Pet DC28- $649 - Not even close to same suction power. Talked to Dyson support, they said this model had better power than Dyson Pet model, after trying tech suggested things ... Returned 1st one & 2nd on its way. Meanwhile bought a Shark Navigator Pro- $170 - WOE - This kicks ass ... even better than Dyson Pet vac which was $649 . 2nd DC33 arrived, performance is same as first. Sent back - Done with this woot. Not even close to the suction and ease of use to new Shark Navigator Pro. Yo Dyson ... new kid on the block at about a third of the price of your new one and it kicks ass in every dept.

Yea, had the same problem, Dyson directed me to the closest repair shop, who had it for a month and couldn't figure out what's wrong. Thru many phone calls I convinced Dyson to send me a replacement that just got here yesterday, and has the same exact problem. Absolute suck... in a bad way. All efforts for a refund thru Dyson have been met with frustration.

It's a great vac, I bought the cannister refurb (own 2 others, older models and central vac which doesn't hold a candle to the dyson's power!) The refurb cannister was like brand new. It works and looks perfect.
