Y'know... the infamous manufacturer's page!

Just remember, with the refurb you're kicked back that .1 to the Android 3.1 instead of the current 3.2.

I've been seeing this Thrive being sold all around the place since last year!

CNet review, complete with video. http://reviews.cnet.com/tablets/toshiba-thrive-8gb/4505-3126_7-34776757.html

Quoted: "The bottom line: The Toshiba Thrive is a bulky but aggressively priced Honeycomb tablet that earns its girth with full port support and a removable battery."

$399.99 on Amazon for the same thing. 4 star overall review. Seems like a good deal.

I just wonder if/when it's OS will be updated. If it was I'd be interested in at least one, maybe more.

Just got the 32GB version for X-mas darn it. Awesome deal and well worth the $$$. This is sooo much nicer than my G-tab. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Specifically....much better viewing angles. Stock OS is pretty solid. GPS. So far I'm loving it.

That's $100 less than I paid for my 16GB iPad 2.

Of course, that's just a way of asking "is it Mac compatible?".

I stayed up. Again.

Hmmm. I wonder if ICS will be made available for this tablet? Maybe I should look at it as a compliment to my Ainol Basic 7 tablet, currently running ICS...

The 32GB version was on sale 4 days ago at 1saleaday for $300.

Dear Woot, this is not a deal. Quit letting an upstart company like 1saleaday make you look bad.

Totally not familiar with tablets.....can you use Microsoft Office products on one of these? Specifically interested in Excel and Publisher, perhaps to use this at work. Thanks!

So how do these compare to the Ipad? Does it have the creative capabilities? Like the HDMI!

That's one big tablet. If you get one be sure to take it with plenty of water.

The G Tablet... the Xoom... the Touchpad... the Galaxy Tab. Sorry, Woot, I am tabletted out.

Although this is better than both the G Tablet and the Touchpad.

Hi All: I got it the last time around. Works like a charm. I can't compare it to any other tablet. My son said it is super fast compared to what he has seen. I read e-mail, read Nook & Kindle books, watch streamed movies and visit Woot. I am very pleased. This is a good price for a very good product. This tablet will pass all but the logo test.

I own one of these and absolutely love it. I also have a Kindle Fire and iPad 2 in my household. This has 3 things that are really important that those don't.

Full USB: Awesome if you need to throw on a wireless keyboard/mouse combo or to attach any USB peripherals.

Full HDMI: No adapters to hunt around for/break/lose/buy a million of. Also really handy for plugging into TVs at friends, offices, school, etc.

Full SD card: Plug into computer, camera, cell phone (if you have a microSD adapter, which most people do).

As neat and thin as most other tablets are, the Toshiba Thrive is absolutely brilliant in how practical it is. You can really get useful things done with it. I love mine and I only have the lowly 8GB model.

It comes with a viewer app, but to edit, you'll need to get another app. there isn't an MS-created office app that i know of for android.

Too bad it's not a 7" screen. I've been waiting for a 7" unit with a dual core processor... something like the Blackberry Playbook. Guess I'll just have to keep waiting...

Blackberry would love it if you just bought theirs, lol.

I got this same model the last time they were on sale. I could not update the OS through the toshiba site and lots of people had the same issue. It was a simple matter of rooting it and then installing the update. Some might have issues.

No, it has not seen a "fire sale" at $99 a la Touchpad.

I'm posting this from my Thrive, connected to my wireless keyboard and mouse via a full size USB dongle.

I can also use that USB port to pop in a wired Xbox 360 controller and play Grand Theft Auto 3. The screen is great, but for gaming I plug in my full size HDMI cord and hook it right up to my LCD.

(If you can't tell, the Thrive has full size ports and I love them.)

Battery life is decent, but not great. Features a user removable battery though, so you can carry a spare.

I've had mine for about 5 months and, having used pretty much everything on the market, I came back to this. Even though it's a bit more girthy than other tabs, they don't have the full size ports. The rubberized backing is protective and feels extremely comfortable in the hand.

This is the lowest price I've seen. Not by a mile but technically it is. The deal on the 32gig at 1 day was the lowest fora 32 gig - and they sold out fast btw. These 16 gigs are $399 new at Best Buy.
I got a 16 gig for Christmas and love it. With the full size SD card port, even a 16 gig is just fine.

It did not say it has GPS.
Does this one come with GPS? Can I use Navigon built in map with the GPS?

It does have GPS. However it doesn't have 3G radios so it is less useful in a vehicle unless you have a portable mobile data hotspot.

Actually lowest price was $219 in November for this at 1saleaday website.

Few people will spend $250 on a tablet and then spend another $250 for MS Office for it so since MS cant score $250 you're S.O.L.

You could find a free or much cheaper alternative more than likely. Not sure about Publisher though, didn't even know people still used that.

I got one of these back on Dec. 19th and ended up returning it because it did not update. The system would hang when you picked the System Update option from the Device Manager. I suggest that anyone considering getting this look at the posts from the 19th. Some buyers had major problems and even something that looked like diagnostic builds. I had no interest in going through a long and problematic "root" install so I returned it.

You can upgrade to Android 3.2 if you tend to be a little more tech savvy. Instructions here.

I just got a Kindle Fire for Christmas. It also might have been rooted. Im thinking this *might* be a better deal. Bigger screen, more space, no hacking, HDMI port, camera...what say you guys?

Give me the full blown Android tablet over the Nook or Fire anyday. Sure it costs a bit more but in the long run you'll be glad you did.
This has the whole Android market on it, compared to the Amazon market is night and day.
