So in your case "in transit" did mean out for delivery? And has your tracking status actually updated yet? I'm hoping mine will be waiting when I get home.

I have not been able to access the tracking on woot all day. Going through USPS, it has actually been showing "delivery confirmation" for at least a day now. Crazy. But today it listed several new lines like "arrival at post office" and "sorting complete". I hope that helps.

I'm sure you're all dying to know, so I'll post an update. :-)
My Thrive was just dropped at my local PO. Past experience has shown that means it will be delivered tomorrow, even though the estimated date still shows Saturday.

No longer waiting for my child to arrive, he's here! So far I have everything in the box that should be in there. But now I must charge it to see how well put it is. Fingers crossed. I'm happy as my first Christmas in which I got everything I wanted and my first game console, super Nintendo! I told my girlfriend she's a little jealous though.. oh well, this thrive will replace her for a while. Hopefully!

Got mine today. Went to register it and it tells me that it has already been registered. I understand it re-furbished but what do you do in this situation?

In my experience, "in transit" means that the item is going from FedEx to USPS. The next update should read "At US Postal Service Facility."

Received mine yesterday. Sealed and packaged like new, no smudges on screen and no visible wear. Plugged in power adapter and attempted to turn on...nothing. Battery light was red. Let charge until battery light turned white. attempted power on....nothing. Removed both batteries per posts I found and depressed power button for ten seconds. Reinstalled batteries, replaced cover, attempted to power on....nothing. Called Toshiba and walked through battery removal again. No success. Toshiba support indicated my options were to return to re-seller or ship to them for $25 to repair. Requested replacement from Woot. After reading all the posts about problems, thinking I made the wrong decision.

I really don't want to have to mess with rooting anything as I'm not the most technically capable person. Is this something Toshiba is going to fix any time soon?

Got mine today! Saw it was dropped off at the post office and went to go pick it up. couldn't wait for delivery.

Condition like new. Few finger prints on the screen. Got the right cable. Everything was in a factory sealed box.

The only thing bad is the build number is the same as the others who couldn't get the updates to work. Oh well, I'm going to use it a bit before I try to upgrade it anyway. Btw I'm typing on it right now.

I do like it so far. Ahh its like Christmas when I was younger!

Typing from my thrive with android 3.2. Got this afternoon. Factory sealed and everything...the box is very different from the one I bought at best buy...it clearly says refurbished. Although itdoesnt have any signs of use..I can tell its not brand new since the plastic on the screen that was on my brand new one is not on this. Also another sticker on battery that said refurb.

However I like this better than the I bought at best buy...prompted me to update to 3.2 and done in 10 mins. For some reason the defaultstuff on home screen etc is also better on this. So far its all good..feels
almost like getting my girlfriend back.

apiehl wrote:I love the shipping info LOL - The FedEx Tracking says mine arrived at the Dallas USPS. It departed Dallas and and then arrived in Fort Worth FedEx, then departed Fort Worth FedEx, and Arrived Fort Worth FedEx, and now in transit. When I check the USPS tracking, they say they have been electronically notified that a package is on the way.

I've just never had any tracking info like this from UPS or FedEx before. I think I know why the US Postal Service is always in trouble.

Oh well, it left Woot on the 7th the best I can tell, so I imagine I'll get it by the estimated date of the 13th. It only had to go about 45 miles to get here from Woot.

Got my Thrive today. Hit a bump in the road. The DC power plug does not have an end, just two metal prongs sticking out. Looks like the devil's spear. Maybe good for roasting mineature marshmallows.

Does anyone know if you can charge the battery through the USB connector? Have had it connected for about an hour but no charging indicator and cannot turn the unit on.

Now what? Send the whole package back?

I can't get mine to update. Found some forums that seem to suggest the only way to fix that is to root it.

Has anyone been able to find if Toshiba is working on any kind of fix for the updating issue? It's very disappointing.

Okay...update on mine. I have a test Os on my Thrive... went to the forums... doesn't look like there was any help for this problem.
Sent Woot an Email... look forward to hearing from them tomorrow to get a swap out for one with a real OS

Actually the status updated from "in transit" to "at postal facility" to "out for delivery" so tracking worked pretty well. The tablet is great. No smudges on screen and it looks new. Tested speakers, cameras, screen lock button and took the back off. Everything in good order except the OS won't update which is easy to correct with root/rom. So far so good!

Mine showed up yesterday, and, like others, came with the wrong power supply.

For those curious, no, you can't charge it through USB.

Guess we'll see what Woot says, probably will be returning this. What a great way to start off my first Woot purchase.

The power cord simply will not plug into the computer - it's too big for the hole.

As stated above if you received your Thrive with the incorrect power adapter, please contact us at service@woot.com. We will send you the correct adapter for your unit.

Sorry, missed your response above. Browsed through the previous discussion from the December sale and didn't see anything there either, so figured y'all didn't have any on hand to distribute. Poor assumption on my part, it seems.

Contacted y'all last night, thanks for the response here as well!

EDIT: Did see the response above prior to the post, but it seemed very "see what they can do", not "we've got these on hand, NBD", thus my response.

For those of you requiring a replacement from Woot: Are you having to ship the defective unit back before Woot replaces it? Does Woot ship the replacement via Smartpost?

cajnseo

Received mine yesterday as I stated on my last post. I plugged in and turned on. I was promted to update almost right away. I just followed the promts. I then got busy installing the Amazon app so that I could access all of the free apps that I've accumalated since Wooting the Pocket Edge. Once I rememberred my email and password, it was easy. I'm loving it. The only thing that I am a little disappointed in is the sound of the speakers. They're not that loud and sound relatively tinny compared to the Pocket Edge. This is my first real tablet so I'm not sure what to expect but compared to the Edge, it's disappointing. Android Market has tons of apps, free and paid and they download seemlessly. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.

Can anyone address the above mentioned speaker issue?

Out for delivery, OUT FOR DELIVERY!!! Smartpost had it an hour away from my house last night and didn't think I was going to get it today because it wasn't updating. I kept refreshing this morning and now it's out for delivery! Really hope I get the right power cable

I already bought this:

Amazon

If anyone else plans on getting one of those, wait till the price fluctuates. I originally had it in my cart at $11.50, and then bought it at $12.50, now it's over $18.

If the case gets here before the tablet, I may lose my mind.

Have either of you, or anyone else, gotten the tablet yet and had a chance to try this case out? I got my Thrive from the last Woot deal and have been on the lookout for a case, and the keyboard might have me sold on this one. Mixed reviews on Amazon, but most are from other tablet model owners.

I'm glad you didn't get a lemon!

I'm still stuck on "In Transit" in my hometown. I don't have a ton of hope for it being delivered today, in spite of it being the estimated delivery date.

FedDex tracking still shows "in transit" but USPS tracking indicates it was delivered one hour ago, but I have not seen hide nor hair of it. Now, I start making phone calls everywhere to see what is going on. I will never, ever buy anything again that utilizes SmartPost.

Well, I hope whoever got the package at least has the wrong power adapter so the unit can't be used. :-)

Did you call anyone and, if so, did they indicate it was actually pending delivery and that Delivery Confirmation was an error? I called the USPS and was told they would investigate the situation and get back to me.

Yep I got it yesterday, just a day after I got my Thrive. Actually it's pretty cool. Worked fine, Thrive fits pretty snug. The standard USB plug is a little tight as the side clip to hold the tablet in is right next to the USB port. Has 3 LED lights that indicate cap lock, number lock, haven't figured out the 3rd one yet. Yes it is a little bulky but I don't think I will be carting it around town with the tablet in that case anyway. I did put a micro cloth in between the keyboard and the tablet face when closing as it is a tight fit.

chandzo wrote:Mine just arrived with NO AC Adapter and NO USB cable. Wakko Talks Faboo!??

Ugh, it really seems like the power cable issue is the biggest problem with this woot.

I went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered an extra power cable with 1-day shipping, even though I haven't gotten my Thrive yet. I figure I'll want two power adapters anyway, and this will keep me from losing my mind if I get the wrong one with my Thrive after waiting for this SmartPost nonsense.

Honestly, call me a baby for whining about shipping, but Woot might not be worth the savings to me in the future if I have to deal with SmartPost. It's a stupid place to try to save money at $5, when 10 bucks per person probably would have gotten standard, reliable, signature-required shipping.
