Smartpost has been a great solution for my needs. I HAVE to receive all mail at a PO Box.
My physical address is a marina and deliveries to the Harbormaster are frowned upon. I have tracked the deliveries and they can take a day or 2 longer than expected but I have never had a shipment lost.

There are a plethora of readers out there for reading .cbr and .cbz files. I myself use Perfect Reader.

The discussion might change your mind, but chances are you don't need a tablet. This a great product, i know because the company gave us one. But in all my gadget research prior to that i had determined i didn't need a tablet. as it is, if i JUST wanna email (ever so slowly typing on the tablet), i use the tablet. anything beyond, i use my Toshiba net book.
The one advantage is the apps. The coolest app ever is Gravilux.

The site won't let me download the program to my computer. It says I have no Android device listed. Will the site recognize the Thrive, and allow me to download it directly to the tablet when it arrives?

For that kind of money, you may as well go for an iPad...even if it means an additional $100

Yes. The Thrive will be registered with the Market through a Google account.

Yeah, but I've found that you're lucky to get something that WORKS from 1saleaday - I got 2 items in a row that didn't work/work right. Those were my last 2 from 1saleaday. They made it good, but is it worth the aggravation?

Now is the wrong time to jump into the tablet fray seeing how much the price of android tablets will fluctuate in 2012.

I've gone though a couple of comic book viewers before settling on PerfectViewer from the marketplace. The free version is the same as the paid version, but get the paid version to support the author

How long before we see the Thrive 4G on Woot? This deal is tempting, however 4G is what's missing. Wife already has the 16GB Thrive... I suppose I'll share for now.

Well, if I didn't have a Xoom already, this would be tempting, with the full USB and the full SD card size.

LOL, not likely he is going to find an iPad 32 gb for $100 more either.

FYI: Just got my 16gb Thrive from Woot the other day and I am lovin' it!!

I think it also important to realize that the comparison is NOT with the iPad, but with an iPad 2 (AT LEAST has cameras), which is more expensive yet.

Still no comparison if you want even 1 port!

I just found out that FedEx Smartpost means that the post office makes the final delivery. That means it won't be here on Monday either. I hope I don't have the problems everyone else is having. I am not sure if I want to root it. Is that like formatting the hard drive or is it more like a firmware upgrade, like a flash memory upgrade? I am technologically-challenged...

Isn't Android build on Java? What are these games you speak of? I will try on my Xoom.

This is just my opinion. Do not choose an expensive device to learn to root. Either get a CHEAP device to learn on, or find someone to do it for you. I have found some on craigslist that do it. Now i know myself...worth the $20.00 to have it done and see how it was done.

I went ahead and ordered it. My first tablet, so I have nothing else to compare it to. I'm mostly looking for something portible, and of a decent size, to do web surfing, play games, and read e-magazines on since I'm trying to get rid of the piles of magazines in my apartment and to save some trees. My current laptop will become the blue-ray player for my TV.

You're talking apples and oranges. This isn't the apple iPhone 4. I own one and the pics are just ok. For a price less than what the iPhone 4 would cost without a 2 year plan it's a no brainer. Do whatever you want but I wish the few whiners would stop it already. You want to give an excuse why you didn't buy a tablet at a great price. No, it's not the iPAD2 but they're not charging almost $300 more plus tax and shipping.

I bought the 16gb version from woot b4 Christmas and had an issue. Every thing worked out perfect and I got a replacement from woot. I love it. I added a 16gb class 10 sdhc card i got new for 15.00 and it works perfect. This is a great price for athe 32gb model...if you are hesitant...dont be. It is an AWESOME tablet. Thanks again for having great customer service and ALWAYS doing the right thing!

But this isn't "a tablet at a "GREAT" price".This price is average at best and will only go lower with each passing week.

I'm very happy with my Xoom and I haven't figured out everything. Perhaps you can look online for a tutorial or video to show you how. Is that the only reason you're unhappy with it? If it is, that makes no sense.

Is your Epic a Sprint product? If so, call them to help you. I hear their customer service is stellar, NOT. They take anyone for service, good or bad credit so they get alot of the leftovers and a huge collection dept. Wait in line behind them for a tech on the phone to help you.

You're kidding, right? I got my 16 GB that's a gift today and most got their's yesterday. Why are you so annoyed? For $5 shipping with people doing Christmas returns, it's not a long time to wait for it to be shipped.

Try shopping "Beyond the Rack." (not just clothing.) Typical orders take 5 to 8 weeks then suddenly they're not recieving items from the manufacturer, drop shipper doesn't have enough or the middleman is playing pocket pool especially on their best buys. Lucky customers get a refund after they've had your money for 10 weeks. Woot is consistent, fast shipping unless it's Smart Post and we're warned ahead of time when it is.

If you go to Jan. 5 (refurb Thrive 16 gb) in the community pages and read the last 4-5 pages you will find you have a 50/50 chance of getting a good device. Some of the 16's received wrong or no power cords but Woot stepped up and will send out missing/wrong cords if you email them and let them know. According to some post, Toshiba did not directly reburb these, they are done by another company (and apparently not done well). Toshiba will charge you $25. to send the tablet back to them for repair. Woot is very good about giving rma's for damaged/bad items. You may be able to get a replacement from them, worse case you get your money refunded back to you.
