The only thing spectacular about these seems to be the failure rate (according to Amazon)...

They're just trying to see if you're paying attention.

studiophile? is that better than audiophile??

Not very good for actually mixing music, even at this price. Better than logitech at least. There is no GOOD cheap solution for properly mixing music.

Those will give a better mix than these wannabe monitor speakers.

I suggest adding googly eyes to them; it makes it look like they're singing at you.

Thank you! I wanted to say something, but I was afraid that with this crowd, it might be misconstrued ;)

How the heck are the minimum system requirements related to these? They are speakers, right? They have RCA inputs, so they'll work with anything that spits an audio signal out of an RCA plug, even if it's coming from Windows Media Center, right? Am I missing something here?

I have the 40's and I love them.

My son's had two sets of the 30's ... both went on the fritz prematurely ... for no reason we could discern. And he's really, really careful with his stuff.

This may be a time when a refurb's a good idea - these may well have been double checked and more reliable than the new 30's.

I'm sitting here getting tons of enjoyment out of my AV40's. I'm sure the 30's are a good deal too!

Bought some of these for my office many months ago - they sound very good for my ears...but I'm just listening to music in the office. They aren't cranked (very often) and I'm not mixing music. For $60 these will sound better than anything else that I've heard.

I'm gonna go with "Copy & Paste Errors for $500, Alex".

EDIT: Then again, you all could have been imagining it.

For those of you who have this set, what are the dimensions? C'mon, woot, you listed it for the AV40s, are these the same physical size?

Hey TT, I saw a posting for forums mod on the "Work for Woot" page. Nobody is leaving right? Also do you know, or can guess, if much experience is required? college required? I'd be willing to take a bullet for Gatzby if it means I'd get a Woot job.

I know you're not asking me, but I think you'd be an excellent mod. You at least weren't rude to anyone, as far as I've noticed.

Just my two cents' worth.
