Duh.

This is massively overpriced. I've bought quality hex bits for pennies on the dollar (about 5 cents a piece) at wholesale and they're only a bit more expensive than that from your local hardware store. I'm beginning to think that SOG as a brand is hugely overrated. Remember their fail-shovel?

Aren't all bits technically torque bits? Without torque they wouldn't do much good!

Woot was a dumping ground to unload crap from other companies prior to Amazon's purchase. That's the whole point. Cheap crap and a thriving community of nerdy overly sarcastic (and whiny) people.

"Torx" is a registered trademark. These might be knockoffs (although usually those are called "star" bits).

You can buy the 1/4" drive adapter directly from SOG:

Oh come on! Can buy these in any hardware store or big box store in the country. For less than here.

Not Woot-quality crap. Just general easy-to-find crap.

Between these two, it's $6. For that plus shipping you get an additional eight bits and an extension. I can't find the material SOG is using for their bits, but since it's an axillary set it's probably not the highest quality set.
The price is less than the $12 on amazon, and the $20 on the SOG website, but its still more than I'd be willing to pay for a set that doesn't include commonly needed Allen bits (4mm, 5mm, 3/16, 7/32).

If these are the same ones as were up in the December wootoff they don't come with the case mentioned in the write up.

woot4loot

quality posts: 0 Private Messages woot4loot

I expect the quality on these to be far better than the typical bits you'd find elsewhere. It says they come in a little nylon case, too- sounds perfect to go in my backpack's side pocket next to the SOG Powerlock that lives in there. I'm getting hex sets for my dad and brother, too- in for 3!
