Well... I'm happy I went to bed when I did. After 7 hours of sleep, it looks like I only missed 7 items.

The woot! price is the list price. They are offering no discount whatsoever. The AT&T page doesn't even say "recertified" (whatever that might mean).

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but with apple recertified equipment you can buy the apple care, and you can pay full price for said care, but you only receive the balance of time from when the machine was first put into service. found this out the hard way with an iphone purchased from AT&T as apple reconditioned. I bought the apple care but since someone else had bought the apple care for the same phone I only received the balance of the time left. So apple collected twice for the coverage. Some how this doesn't seem right.

Actually, AT&T offers free shipping for online purchases, so woot! is charging a premium for an inferior product.

By the rate this is going, the iPads will be off the wootoff in the next 4 hours...

Woot isn't going to be a gatekeeper ensuring you sign up for a data plan before letting you buy it like AT&T does.

And on that AT&T 1-month-required plan, what other charges are on that first bill? Universal access fees? FCC fees? Billing service fee? Conversion of cheque to EFT fee?

But if you're going to use a MiFi card to bridge WiFi to 3G or 4G, the MiFi will share its GPS functionality over WiFi to your device. And certain functions restricted to WiFi-only (like downloading >20MB apps or syncing to your home computer's library over a VPN connection) become unrestricted (unless they've patched that loophole).

I bought a wootPad some other time. Identical offering. I've never activated 3G and am satisfied for how I use it.

Some user will actually try to use it - you watch and see...

This is a good price considering new was $850 range. However AT&T is about to raise data plans so not sure if the 3g is going to be worth getting. Also the iPad 3 is already in manufacturing, technology is moving too fast for me. What I need is a good gaming laptop 17". Any suggestions?

I got a Samsung 10.1 for christmas. I love it. My partner at work has an ipad first gen, identical to this one.

He loves his as well. but his cost $150 more. I just cant see spending more on a product because of the apple name.

Ill stick with my Samsung and be happy. To each their own though
