Since this is my 13th bag, I thought a trip down memory lane for the other 12 would be good.
My first BOC was in November of 2007 (I actually almost got one earlier that year but didn't know what it was so I didn't bother to order it).
Back then you had to select 3. None of this enter your CCV # and click 2 gold buttons junk you whippersnappers have today.
I didn't label each item with which BOC it came from so please understand if I get them in the wrong order.
Even back then there was a lot of similar items, but I did score an under the counter radio/cd player. Also, there were a lot of Westren[sic] Cowboy Kits. I didn't know cowboys used radios and it had the whiskey bottle for the future alcoholic. It was made by "Fanng toys and powerful, the powerful and funny"
That single item has gotten more attention in my cube than any other toy.
The next time (April 2008 the famous 3 BOC April 1st). I still display the Mother Goose Record proudly.
Since then I've gotten:
- Yanni in Words
- Photo frames
- Slinky Jr
- Flying Aces model airplane kit
- Hypochondriac stress pill
- ? bag (which is now missing)
- Captain Kirk Vinyl figure
- Superman Figure
- Thomas the train figure
- 1990 Pro Bowl Football Cards
Some stuff was donated such as coloring books to a day care center. Yes I've gotten two Sansa devices as well and I've been shorted on more than 1 occasion. Each time Woot took care of me, even if it was shipping me overnight a paper bag with a ? on it.
For $96 dollars over 4 years, I've had a lot of fun. Have some BO
Cs been worse than others? Sure. But recently things have been getting better (I mean I did get two bottles of wax and a model airplane once about 2 years ago).
In my time I've seen the rise and fall of Google Docs for tracking as well as the rise of the latest cra
p tracker. I also learned how to put BO
C without it hitting the filters. I've seen happy hour come and go (they never seem to do it anymore) and many many woot-off ki
llers / LOL Cats. The number given away has increased from 1500 @ 3 items/order to approximate 2500, allowing more people to score. I've used woot-off lights (both police and normal) to indicate build status on a nightly build system. I've seen smartpost added, and when they were too fast in the Oregon area, replaced with FedEx home.
So now the score sits:
Woot - Bob
$96 - 12* (13 when this BO
C arrives, the April 1st snafu BO
C was free)
Woot, thank you for 12 great packages and the memories created, here's to another 12.
