Hello fellow Wooters! Happy to report that Woot Gods have smiled upon me, and just like in old times sent me a unique item, that I guess qualifies under "broken electronics that you can easily fix" category!
Here's the rundown:
9.8lbs at 18x12.6x12.5 inches (as per FedEx, didn't recheck but it looks about right)
The usual:
- 1 x Genuine Woot Box in pristine condition
- 4 x Bags of Texas Air also intact.
- 1 x Navy Blue duffel bag - bag requirement fulfilled
- 1 x Navy Blue shirt - matching the bag color
- 1 x Spitball Dartboard - "Enemy" style
- 1 x Cafe Bingo game - crappy as promised
Thus makes a bag and the three craps.
And last but not least the creme de crop item
- 1 x LumiSource Rock Show Venue with Microphone - Obviously a return. Missing the AV cord as per "what's in the box" description and lacks any kind of packaging material or a manual, which is not listed in description either, but took me 20 seconds to google one up in PDF format.
The mandatory "crappy" picture (it's crap being pictured after all).
The cable that connects the two speakers together had all pins bended to certain degree (three of them very badly smashed against the sides):
I guess somebody tried to force the connection in a wrong way, failed at that and returned the whole thing as defective. After straightening the pins up the unit works just like advertised: pretty crappy sound, but cool lights and karaoke effects are great!
Ok, it's not a 60" HDTV, or a coveted "letter" but it was a unique item. When I was about the age of my daughter, I would've killed for something like this. Today it's a few decades too late for me, but I'm sure the kids will appreciate (perhaps not to the extent I would have back in the days)!
All in all it does look like colonelcrap is up to a good start! Please do cut him a slack - it's his first real battle on the Woot front! And it does look promising. Yes, some of the troops at the warehouse had counting issues, but those who politely asked Woot to fix them instead of whining are getting it right. There is a whole bunch of useless electronics sent out. I do remember the "old days" and I don't remember anyone complaining "Damn you, Woot, I got a bunch of sansa's like everyone else - can't you send something unique?". Do remember that you ordered
CRАP, and that's what you are getting. If back in the days Woot picked up a truckload of returned Sansa's from Tigerdirect or elsewhere to send out as craps, it does not mean they are going to buy brand new ones for you this round. This time around it's the undersold Wii wannabes that they got their hands on...
I know some will say it's easy for me to say that, because I wasn't shorted and got a cool item, but keep in mind - I've gotten all kinds of craps in the past (this is my number 22). From completely generic to some very cool unique items. I've been shorted a crap in the past as well. But I never complained.
Remember folks - if you want something of value: just buy it! If you order crаp, expect to receive what you ordered, and anything really cool in your box is an extra prize for you! Not the other way around!
So once again thank you Woot for the load! And thank you ColonerCrap, sir, for doing a good job! Keep it up!
