I just got this windows PC. Check out all these features:

Notepad, for simple text editing.
Wordpad, for more complex text editing.
Calculator, do math and stuff.
Paint, draw stuff. Photo editing!
Windows Live Mail, need I saw more?
Windows Live Messenger, talk with friends
Windows Live Moviemaker, film your cat.
Windows Live Photo Gallery, see pictures of your cat.
Internet Explorer, only the greatest browser ever.
Windows DVD Maker, copy your crap on dvds.
Sound Recorder, record yourself praising windows.
Math Input Pad. Input complex equations and stuff.
Bored? Play games! With:Freecell, Hearts, Chess, Solitaire, Minesweeper, Mahjong Titans, Spider Solitaire.

Seriously Mackies, get over yourself. Anything you think is "the greatest thing ever" that comes as standard bloatware on your mac, it's likely included with Windows, or something comparable is readily available for download.
You're not special for owning a mac, you're not morally superior, you likely just fell for the monster cable scam.

Two sites? Wow, that really shows that Mac viruses are just as likely and damaging as Windows viruses. Come on!

Didn't you say Mac doesn't get virus at all?

If I use something requiring the GPS then it empties the battery in 3 hours, otherwise the battery lasts all day with heavy usage of email & phone & web.

Some of those aren't fair comparisons just because they serve totally different functions (nothing to do with me wanting to say one side is better than the other).

For example:

Paint is for, well, the electronic equivalent of finger painting. Its functions are mostly unrelated to what iPhoto does.
iPhoto is for image organization and management as well as basic photo editing (all-around adjustments, a few special effects, red-eye removal, cropping, etc. - NOT pro tools, but if you are just taking snapshots on your point-and-shoot, it's a great piece of software).

Edited to add: Some things you *could* compare to iPhoto are things like Picasa, Windows Live Photo Editor, etc.

Why do Mac fanboys brag so much about no viruses? The only reason why there are no viruses for Mac is because virtually nobody uses them, so nobody goes to the trouble of creating a virus for it. It's as if you brag that your Ford is will never get hit by a meteorite, it's a true but pointless argument.

Meanwhile, has anybody ever heard of resident antivirus software? It's a pretty neat thing, it catches any virus before they infect your machine, you know? I've been virus-free for longer than I can recall all the while I visit some of the scummiest websites around and often plug students' flash drives laden with a whole fauna of viruses from college computers.

Seriously, if you're going to brag about a Mac, do it for the design of the ego boost, not for the lack of viruses.

Not a Apple hater. Just don't like the fact that Apple user think it's superior to PC. Use to own a iPhone also, but switch to DROID 4G. Apple make good product, but price is bit much compare to other products.

Sure. It depends what option meets your needs and/or doesn't frustrate you. I have never had great luck with Picasa and other free tools; I prefer iPhoto as a basic photo tool (with pro software for needs beyond that).

On the other hand, I would never recommend Pages over MS Word. The latter tool does the job better with less hassle.

I'm not proselytizing, just sharing my experience that I've always had pleasant experiences with the preloaded Mac software. There are plenty of other things that might be negative about a Mac, and there are some people who would be perfectly satisfied with free or inexpensive non-Apple alternatives, but for me the preloaded Apple media software adds value.

It was a much needed up grade from my 2008 model MacBook.

The best Woot buy I've made yet!
