I'm gonna whine about the shipping again.
In early days Woot! distinguished itself with witty writing that wasn't afraid to "take the piss outta" the products, with good deals on stuff you wanted or insane deals on stuff we'd never heard of, and with next day delivery via fedex.

Ahh the sweet bliss of instant gratification.

I bought stuff during the first night of a woot-off that was delivered before the bag-o-crap was sold out.

But that changed. okay the first two are pretty much the same.
But the shipping, bleh.

When that accursed snail debuted, we got a written apology, and were told that it was just for items that were smaller in size and less expensive than say 75 bucks. Stuff was still gonna ship out the same day it was ordered (excepting for Woot-Off related backups) and we could expect faster shipping methods for bigger/spendier purchases.

Now everything ships smartpost, even $300 tablets.

The fed-ex gal was friendly, fit and here at four o'clock. My mail dude is grayer, slower and grumpier than me.

Mine shipped today.

Mine shipped on the 24th. today, it's in Kansas, and the estimated delivery date is now a day later than it was yesterday. It looks like a state a day. Only 6 more states to go, and 5 days to receive. I sometimes get stuff from China faster. Of course, if you want a good Woot deal, you have to have patience.

Your Iconia is in Kansas and so is mine. (I'm in Kansas, too.) However, they will sit for a couple of days over the weekend, and then restart their journey. Mine says it will be here on Tuesday.

I'm not gonna hold my breath for a Tuesday delivery. I wouldn't want to turn blue.

the shipping does seem to suck. paid on 22nd, shipped notice on 24th. its not about instant gratification but 12 days is un acceptible. 24th to 2nd is 7 days(transit time) from texas to east coast. if you go to google maps and see how long it takes to bike from nyc to dallas, its about 7 days. ;-)

Look like mine showed up earlier today at the local SmartPost center, which just happens to be in my town. Fingers crossed for delivery tomorrow!

My Acer arrived Saturday (28th), was definately surprised to have seen it so soon as I thought the shipping estimate was for Tuesday (31st).

Thanks Woot, this being my first tablet (and android device as I use a brick of a phone from 5 years ago), I'm loving it.

Yeah. Mine did that too. It's in Orlando. 2.5 hours away from me, yet the est delivery day went from Thurs. to Fri. My wife has read three novels waiting for this. Her laptop died the day this was available. She'll have three more read by the time it gets here. Makes me appreciate my Amazon Prime all that much more.

Got mine today. Charger tip is broken and can not charge it. Battery is completely dead so can't see if it even works. Problem reported to refurb company. Waiting on reply.

As of 1:45 PM it's in New Jersey. Maybe I'll get lucky and get it tomorrow! In the mean time, I bought a 16GB floor sample at Staples. I had a $50 coupon off tablet and laptop clearance models. I also had $105 in Staples rewards(I have the girl in my office who does the purchasing using my Rewards number). It was marked down to $279. They through in a 2 year warranty. I walked out paying $135! My wife's got her tablet before I do!

Just got mine...so far so good.

Just received my A500 and all is very good except for wireless reception. If I'm not in the same room with the router, it's unusable. All other wireless devices work fine throughout the house. It's probably a defective antenna, but it may be something else. Does anyone know of a good debugging procedure? I've tried resetting and restoring to factory defaults. Problem persists. Any suggestions?

I just received mine and was able to turn it on, but it only had 2% power left. It's charging now, so i'll find out in a few hours what condition it's in..........speaking of condition, according to the box, it's reconditioned...not refurbished. Most likely it means the same thing to both woot and ACER.


P.S. Did anyone else get a pamphlet from Seneca in the box for a Reconditioned COMPUTER instead of a tablet?

So far so good with mine thus far. Tryng HDMI tonight, already streamed Netflix and Google Music.

It's at my local post office (1.5 miles away from my house). Can I just go get it or do I have to wait two more days for it to be delivered?

It arrived today. Two days ahead of schedule. Nice. So far so good. It's like a giant version of my phone.

Got mine today, right on schedule. Had about 70% charge, fired right up, downloaded a couple apps, watched a movie, etc.

Received late yesterday. Performed 4+ hrs of charge, turned on and NET: wifi is totally useless. Although it can see access points, it can not connect with either mine - regardless of web security turned on or off, nor anybody else's in the neighborhood. First contacted Acer for 'support, who pushed me over to Seneca. Followed their instructions to reload OS from hidden partition. Still no good. Based on this 'defect' AND that neither Acer nor Seneca consider my unit's SNID or CodeSN as valid values, I'm requesting a RMA.
(BTW: this is the first item ever from Woot to give me a problem - not their fault!)

I had to set mine up with a static IP with my router and then it has worked great ever since then. Also make sure you have all of the updates. Currently, it should have Android 3.2 (Honeycomb)

Hi - having 'static' IP at home would work, but what assurance you have went out in public? say in Panerra Bread, Airports, Hotels.... me wonders if not still hosed!

But did not get till now.The fedex website shows order has been delivered.

Any clue what can be done ahead ?

wow you guys actually received yours. According to the Fedex site, mine has been on the way to the post office since January 28th. Still shows it's on the way. Really? I spoke to Woot and they told me to give it until the 7th of February. Keep in mind this was shipped on January 25th. The location it was currently coming from was 46 miles away from its destination last Saturday. No scans since.

One day I may receive it. If not I'm getting a refund and buying from someone that uses normal shipping.

February 7th has arrived but my woot order didn't. Contacted woot and they processed a refund. SMH Never again!!! Found the product elsewhere which cost me a few more bucks but they use respectable shippers.

WOOT messed up! So I ordered my tablet on the 2nd and have yet to see anything on it. I contacted WOOT and they gave me this excuse.
"This order appears to have been lost somewhere between the shipping dock and the Fedex truck. Unfortunately, we have no replacements available. I have issued a complete refund. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused."
OK so I can except the fact that they oversold the tablet but just tell me that. Then I have been waiting for a refund. So I contacted WOOT again and now they are telling me there was an issue with the process of my refund. But now it is fixed. Really not impressed, considering this was my first purchase. It will most likely be my only purchase. So beware if you try and order anything.

1st reported failure?

Mine was working fine, then one afternoon I tried to use the camera (back, away from me) and it decided to show green lines, then solid green, then crash the whole system.

After a number of calls to different places I finally found the right place to RMA it, now waiting to see how it goes.

I'll try to update later with results.

Mine was working fine until yesterday, when I was not able to get the power button to work. Basically, I cannot get the thing to turn on. The power button feels a little different then it used to.
Now to figure out who to contact for support.

OK, I'm a bit slow with the update, sorry.

I got back from our honeymoon, which the warranty center was kind enough to hold of shipping the replacement so I'd be home when it arrived, it arrived a couple days after we got home.

Replacement tablet has worked fine since, and has updated to ICS.

As I mentioned, the warranty people where very helpful once I got to the right people.
