I'm shopping for a mattress right now and this would be good if I could return it if I couldn't sleep on it.

I wouldn't risk buying one. I guess we got a dud, but taking the chance isn't worth it. Spend money on a mattress that will last more than 6 months. Guaranteed. Not 90 days: sorry about your luck.

For mine, I have it on the floor, this is usually frowned on, but when I purchased the mattress I went from a single to a queen and have yet to purchase the base.

This.is a common misconception. you actually want a twin so she is conveniently forced to snuggle (or fall out of bed. also no cover stealing)

Hmmm. Actually need a king but there's more chatter here. So I have a big question: Will this mattress work with an adjustable bed? I think it should but would like some input, please. My 7 year old latex foam mattress is great but was recently defiled possibly beyond my repair-ability.

Just in case anyone is wondering, This IS compatible with laying on it using your Mac, PC, Acer Tablet, or any other tablet . . . right out of the box.

(after you give it time to expand and off-gas the aforementioned volatiles, i suppose.)

Can I lie face down on this with an anguished expression and end up with a inverse of the Han Solo in Carbonite thing? Less good looking than Harrison Ford, obviously. Much less.

I just read the details and I see that you simply use your current setup.

I'll decide in the morning and till then I'll be tossing and turning all night. Not over this deal, I just have a lousy, stinking mattress and I toss and turn every night. Sounds like a no-brainer to get this, but these days I'm short on cash... though sleep is a close second.

It would appear that people in the northwestern United States have back problems and/or difficulty sleeping.

My heart goes out to you.

In other news, I've always wondered how much money Woot loses in shipping costs on deals like this. o_O

I am pretty sure they figure the shipping into the cost when they buy stock and when they sell it. Plus probably have a decent deal with fedex. at least a lot better than you or I get.

chipgreen wrote:Previous Woot

that Woot had different specs.

Composed of 2.5-inch advanced ‘next generation’ viscoelastic (memory) foam on a 7.5-inch polyurethane base
Supportive 4.0-pound density memory foam eliminates back and joint pain associated with most common innerspring mattresses.

today's Woot:

Memory Foam has 2.5-inch 4-pound top layer with air flow ducts
Foam support structure features 3-inch core with air flow channels directing cool air throughout the mattress
High-density supportive base foam is 4.5 inches thick

So really just the air flow channels, but reviews from that Woot may not apply quite the same to this one.

So, if I went in for three at every site on woot that is offering mattresses, I figure I could do one of two awesome things with them all:

The world's most awesome mattress fort

or...

Matress Dominoes! Matre-noes!

I had one and I hated it. I'm a side sleeper and roll over during the night. With this I'd wake up stuck in a hole, and have to push with my elbow and knee to roll over. Lower back, neck, and shoulder pains resulted, with very little sleep. I gave it to a friend who needed a new mattress, so it's in HIS garage now as he couldn't stand it either. We are both 6'+ and 200lbs+, so if you're light as a feather it might be alright.. haha!

Too bad they don't mention brands or businesses with these. I ordered one the round before last time they had these here was the experiences:
1. Got order incredibly slow, mattress was good though.
2. Got order incredibly fast, mattress never expanded and got money back, came up on 2 pillows.

I was part of the second group. My mattress took up space on the floor for a couple weeks before the rep let me take pictures then they swiftly refunded my money. I made the top layer into a roll up cot, cut down to fit in a truck bed, the rest I tried to create dog beds out of, which then got chewed up and then rejected by my dogs stomach (whew).

I imagine the initial wave was saved up for the woot offer, then more were made. I hope they learned their lesson if this is the same company but as a wooter above me pointed out the specs are now different. FYI, same price.

SoFragile

I got one of these a year ago from Woot. Ex got the temperpiedic in the split. Thought it would be a great replacement for the futon mattress I'd been sleeping on for a year. Discovered the hard way that all memory foam is not created equal. After several days my back ached because it was so soft. Thought it might be because of using a futon frame instead of a platform. Found an inexpensive platform online at Sears. (Sears doesn't carry it in stores.) No joy. Cut it down to twin size for my teen age son. Went back to the futon mattress and spent months looking for something as good as a real tempurpedic that didn't cost $1400. Finally tried Ikea. They have several to choose from. Spent three hours trying them all out. "Settled" on their top of the line for under $600. It is not quite as good as the tempurpedic, but it's close and I am not in pain.
By the way, a memory foam mattress will not bend like a futon if you put it on a futon frame.

I got the full sized one before. I was expecting something I'd sink in to, like you see in the adverts. However, it is VERY firm, and I just kinda "plonk" on top of it, and don't sink in at all. I added 2 foam pads over the top of it, which made it nice and comfy. But then, I coulda done that with any mattress...

Again Walmart had one for the same price as woots king Free site to store shipping, 12 inches, and seem to be very positive reviews (not very mixed). Woots cheaper on the queen, but as I have been sleeping on the floor (on the deflated leaky air matress I got from woot) and want a California king I am seriously considering Walmart. PLUS you can return it to Walmart if you hate it
