Nitpicky would-be editors of the world, today is your day to shine! This week's game is a thrill-a-minute speller called Proke. Why is it called Proke? We have no idea. Although we're not judging people for their funny names, no sirrie. Or should that be sirrey? Siree? Listen, if you know how that's spelled, you're already ready for this game.
In Proke, you'll be trying to lift the little yellow guy up high into the sky. As you can see, you'll have a choice of prefix or suffix on either side, and you'll want to build a word that fits. As long as your word fits the pattern and is spelled correctly, you'll gain a couple blocks.
Sometimes the game will see you get stuck, and offer to let you "Scramble" for a better chance at finding a word. And see that "z" in the bubble? The one that's falling down? Work the bubble letter into your word and there's a bonus in it for you. Just know that you'll have to think fast because there's a timer at the bottom of the screen, so if you do things like consult a dictionary or try to take a screen shot for a blog post, you might run out of time. It's spell or die! Don't sweat it, the first time you do something like this it'll all be worthwhile:
If you post on Facebook regularly, Proke might be too challenging. But if you've been dying to use that English degree for something other than a placemat, here's your chance to shine like the Hope Diamond! Hmm, is diamond capitalized when it's used like that? Maybe Strunk & White need to make a flash game.
