There are four 60 foot siamese cables included.

One siamese cable is really two cables joined together in parallel. One cable supplies the video feed and the other supplies the camera power.

You'll have to get out your tape measure to see if your house is laid out in a manner to be able to utilize the 60 foot cables.

Furthermore, I have a motion sensing light in addition to a continuous light in the yard. When both are on it's still not enough to switch the camera to day-mode.

I think you'd need a few strategically placed 250 watt halogen work lights to turn night into day and fool the camera.

Thanks Gixx...I think I'm going to go for it!

The system is ok, the cameras arent that good at all. Poor picture quality. You get a better pic at night because of black and white pic. Day time has really poor color quality

This is typical of most any CMOS camera. To get true day colors, you need a little more expensive CCD imager camera.

My cameras are HIK vision ($75/camera) which are higher quality and they still need more ambient light to run in day-mode.

My DVR is a Digital Watchdog 500gig which I like but it was more than double the price of this system and didn't come with cameras or cables.

Is there a way to add more cameras? Also are wireless cams available?

www.no-ip.com works well too and is also free for a dynamic IP address. They have paid versions as well, but the free version will work find in this case.

This is a toy that is not designed to deliver a long-term solution. It may work OK if you want to figure out who's running through your flower bed. You get what you pay for and you're not paying very much in CCTV terms. Pass.

This kind of stuff is SO weak.

Same here. We just started trying to get it in the last week. My unit already had the date and time setup so I am wondering if it was a return from before. I am going to try and put in a different drive tomorrow to make sure the drive is not bad, but I am wondering if since you are having the same trouble if the units may be defective.
