Why can't you be more like the versatile iRiver Portable Media Player? It can handle just about any media file you fling at it, from "My Humps" to Judgment At Nuremberg. You, on the other hand, could stand to be a little more well-rounded. In the interest of furthering your personal development, this week we're giving you a challenge that engages both the verbal and visual nodes in that thing you call a brain. Not only must you conjure a clever anagram, you then have to depict that phrase in a pleasing, powerful image. Why? Because we care, dammit. We care.
Create an anagram from the phrase "iRiver Portable Media Player" - then create an image illustrating your anagram.
Now, obviously, the ideal entry would use every letter from the phrase, and no other letters. But that's, like, hard. So we'll judge entries based on how close they come to this ideal, but we won't disqualify anybody for not meeting it. Your picture, of course, should be one of the greatest works of creativity in the history of the human imagination. Just like every week around here, right? At long last, an artistic ambition worthy of your talents: illustrating sentiments like "I retire early, a brave old pimp."
Post your entries here in the discussion thread by 11:59 PM CST on Sunday, March 19, 2006. Prizes are $20/$50/$100 for 3rd/2nd/1st. The rules and criteria for winning: our panel of geniuses can and will make stuff up as it goes along. Use Photoshop, pen and ink, collage, MSPaint, Spirograph, iron-on transfers, whatever, but it’ll only be judged if it’s visible in our forums as a jpg, gif, or png. Try to keep your maximum width to 450px. If you need a place to host your pictures, try
www.imageshack.ws or
www.photobucket.com . We have no connection to either, but they seem free and easy to use. And if you want us to be sure your entry was indeed your work, post links to your source images.
