When you plugged it in, did a purple LED come on?

Here's the link to the ROKU Setup Instructions if you are missing yours.

If you are like me when I first connected it, make sure you change your TV's input source to the connection in which you plugged the Roku.

Whooops, that's not right. Send an email to service@woot.com and they'll let you know what to do. Sorry about that.

Thank you. I had done that. I am now looking to see if there is anything in my house I can unplug to see if this thing even works. Not sure that is smart though. I will just sit tight!

Got my Roku today, learned the hard way that this is *NOT* a Roku 2, despite having a '2' in the '2100x' model number. A Roku 2 says "Roku 2" on the front of it.

Oh well, I really wanted the Netflix subtitles that a Roku 2 displays but a Roku can't. I'll just banish this to the basement TV and hope the next Roku I encounter isn't as confusing.

It looks like you emailed in on 03/13 and 03/15 and we replied to both. Maybe check your junk mail folder to see if our emails are ending up there.

I checked your order and it looks like you gave us the wrong zip and that's why it ended up in the wrong state. Email back with the correct address and we'll help you out.

Does anyone else find that this Roku box gets really really hot? Is that normal?

Got mine today... Didn't get a remote but I did get 2 used AAA batteries of different brands rolling around in the box.

I just received my Roku player and when I went to use it I can't get past the Welcome to the Roku player screen. It says press OK on the remote to begin. Attempted to try it from close range with 3 different sets of batteries from what is seems I have a dead remote control or a bad sensor in the player itself. What do I need to do to get a working unit?

Ok so I got the remote working but I can't get the Roku to recognize my external drive in order to stream media through it. Since I am deployed a lot of the channels show up as not available in my area and if I can't stream from my external this device is pretty much worthless to me where I am. Any advice on getting this thing up and running? (3TB external I formatted down to a partition of 2TB to see if that was the issue)
