To add to the information that Home Depo sells a Husky version of these for a higher price, one has to remember that all Husky brand hand tools are lifetime guaranteed. I received the T handle set as a warranty replacement for a high torque screwdriver that broke. Seems decently made and I haven't had any issues.

I bought a couple skil sets from a Woot-off some time ago. They weren't these particular ones, but I'm pretty disappointed with them in general. The bits don't stay secure in the tool and frequently slip out, which is kind of a deal breaker. They weren't expensive whatsoever, but still...

I can appreciate balanced feedback - what was the issue in your case?

wunami wrote:The precision set bits don't interchange, but the rest do. I wish they had an attachment that made it so the precision bits could go on one of the regular drivers.

I use the extension in the precision set to chuck into my powered drill. Works like a charm. To much power on the plastic handles will totally ruin them. But the bits in the precision set are really great. I originally bought it for the T6 bit to fix my cell phone.

I have a bit shooter with 24bits, and its just too big to turn and screw with the bit chamber..add your hand girth and you're talking at least 6-7" girth needed to use this thing...

forget about working in pc cases, car engines or any small area..you're gettin' a 3" screwdriver that can screw anything attached to a 8" screwdriver that needs girth..

say what you will..lots of puns intended..

While that seems like the perfect solution, there is still a 1.1-4% chance that I won't hit my designated target. But, if I factor in bars and sleazy apartments along with all your criteria, I believe it's almost a 100% chance of hitting the desired target.

You don't realize how utterly useless the ratcheting feature is on a T-shaped screwdriver until you've tried it a couple of times. Most of the time, you don't have enough friction on the fastener to hold it still while the driver attempts to ratchet. But the palm driver is defintiely the shiznit.

They are made by Iron Bridge tools.

Ironbridgetools.com. Same exact as Husky etc. pretty good deal. I have some of the Husky branded sets and they are all fairly decent.

Bear with me as I am an engineer and materials are fascinating.

I would hate to steer you wrong, but it is highly likely that the grips are made of Neoprene or Silicone (both are synthetic squishy rubber) rubber bonded onto high-density polyethylene (#2 plastic).

I strongly doubt that anyone would use latex rubber on a hand tool since latex is not oil resistant. The rubber grips would come apart in your hands if you were using it to work on your oily old Mercedes Diesel.

That being said, they may indeed be made of latex to save a buck and end up with a crappier product. I would bet against that possibility as Skil tends to make/specify some pretty good tools.

I hope this opinion is helpful.

Remember, no matter which woot site you're on, you can order up to three of whatever it is, and shipping is only $5 for the entire order. One order per site, naturally. This is even for some of the larger items, like computers and tv's and such, I believe.

Just received my 36-pc Precision Screwdriver set, and it claims to include a "magnetic extension" but nothing seems to be magnetic. In fact, the bits fit very loosely in female hole of the driver handle and would really benefit from some magnetism. If I hold the screwdriver upright and facing down (as if working on something laying flat), the bit falls right out. Am I missing something?

I got mt 36pc Precision today and same experience here.

Additionally, my "magnetic" extension has a malformed female end so I can't even put any bits into it

I have the loose fitting bit problem also. It is not a magnetic holder or extension. Upon closer examination it seems that there is a slit on the female end. If you force the bits in with downward pressure, they hold pretty securely. You will feel them "snap" into position.
