Hello all. Everyone gone. I didn't think kids had school tomorrow, but some did. Have done all the cleaning up I'm doing tonight. Rest time.

Also found out young niece (not that young, 4th grade) is no longer totally afraid of big dogs. Not thrilled by them, but much better.

I'm all screwed up. I worked some overnight shifts this week as everyone was taking vacation time, and this afternoon meant to take just a 2-hour nap and try to meet with friends in the evening so I'd be doing something active and hopefully tire out in time to sleep more like a normal person. Instead I slept 6 hours, which is close enough to a full night's sleep and past the time I hoped to do something with people that I'm totally messed up. Since it was around the "breakfast" time I'd been having I got something to eat: hot dogs and beer, breakfast of champions.

unplugged for most of the weekend, spent a lot of time with the kids and friends. So, overall a very good weekend.

unfortunately, now it's back to the work grind. and today's grind looks like.... municipal solid waste. such a "lovely" aroma, that one. at least it's better than the poop-algae.

Good morning everyone! It was such a beautiful weekend here! The weather says we get one more day of sun and then it'll rain again. Went to the zoo on Saturday - it was packed with kids doing Easter hunts but surprisingly spread out enough that I didn't feel too crowded.

Easter was gorgeous though, and I decided to go out for brunch buffet. The menu consisted of:
- seasonal fruit salad with basil & lime (yummy)
- mini pigs in a blanket w/honey mustard sauce
- french toast w/maple bacon syrup or regular maple syrup
- eggs in a blanket (pan fried toast with an egg in the middle) (also yummy)
- corned beef hash
- tofu scramble with tofu, peppers, spinach, lots of spices
- scrambled eggs
- sausage links, bacon, and field roast (veggie) patties
- home fries, hash browns
- cereal
- a 'do it yourself toast station'

There was also a 'do it yourself' Bloody Mary bar which I didn't try but had all kinds of olives, peppers, and veggie like things to put in your drink. Nearly everyone was drinking them though I honestly don't see the appeal of Bloody Marys at all.

Then I came home and slept most of the afternoon, which was no big surprise.

I'm with you on the bloody marys. Even with Bakon vodka, still can't get them.

Hmm, I like bloody marys as long as they're not too spicy and don't have cheese in them.

Hi all.

Sorry I didn't even unpack my laptop while I was gone and just did a few updates from the phone on FB and the really rare email. I hate doing email from my phone.

I was going to unpack my laptop a couple times and fell asleep instead. I'm wiped and not just because the world still feels bumpy from all the driving.

I hope you all had a lovely Easter, since we didn't get home until the night before the "traditional" Easter events will happen next Sunday. It's going to be hard enough to get back into the week, especially since we left the house in a real state. (something about washing and throwing it in suitcases)

Did manage some fun on the way back. The girls LOVE museums

We had two dozen, but we're down to four. Supposed to get some from son this afternoon, they needed dozens to hide but not to eat. Saw a recipe that sounded good yesterday. Toasted English muffin, thick slice of tomato, slices of hard boiled egg, mozarella cheese, put under the broiler.

Edit: The plastic eggs were from the Easter egg hunt yesterday.

Ver1 is having a hard day at school, I think all the social pressure is just a bit overwhelming. We are trying to get back on Pacific time as well. Normally we don't time shift when we visit, but we had to be up for so much and the days were so draining we went to bed early. I guess I look like I'm barely awake, even though I woke up hours before I went to work (and I normally roll out of bed and go).

Tired, but cleared for going back to work Wednesday. Worked from home today, will again tomorrow. At least with the note I don't feel bad for knocking off early.
