He spent most of last night trying to curl next to me when I was lounging on the couch. There was a triangle of space, just big enough for him...if he let two legs dangle off the edge. Which he did. Even after I moved and gave him more room.

Cats are weird.

On and off the cat has lived here 2 years.
What made him discover that rug today?
He also found a spot behind the desktop computer. That is a big desk.
Ikea office collection. Very well made, but too big for a laptop.
Unless, maybe, in a big room, you could have two work areas.

Well, he's a cat. Puck ignored the bath mat for at least 6 months. He also decided that a chair in the bedroom was awesome--but only after it moved about 5 feet. And both cats are convinced that the bed in the spare room is far better than any other place in the house, and think I am totally mean because the door to the spare room is kept shut.

My speech is not parsing. I am speaking in ellipsis.

Scratchy liked a rocking chair in the basement until we cleaned it up when son came back. Hasn't been on it again since.

Such strange little animals.

Ugh, cube neighbor is SO loud today. Her husband is in France right now, and she's lecturing him about what he shouldn't do. It's honestly embarrassing to hear.

that IS loud! mabe if she used the phone or internet she wouldn't have to yell so loud to be heard all the way over in france.

I will make the suggestion, but honestly, I don't think it will help.

Should have been a quick, easy trip to the mall to buy a mall gift card. On the way there, two lanes of traffic stopped for no apparent reason. Finally see a mama duck and at least 12 ducklings crossing the street. Get to the office to buy the card, closed until 1:15. It was 12. Had my Kindle with me, so had lunch and read awhile. Surprised me, they wouldn't take cash, only a credit or debit card for the gift card. And annoyed me, 2.95 for the card. On the way home, traffic stopped and everyone's turning around. A rotted tree had broke off and was laying on the electric lines, bringing them very close to the road. Actually saw one tadpole go under them, had about four inches to spare. An adventurous trip.

Damn, they reedited the news story and took out the best line ever.

Gov Cristy of NJ was commenting on a story the the Cops were escorting a bunch of muscle cars going to a car show. They were going over 100mpg on the parkway with a police escort.

Cristy said something like, I was just shaking my head when I heard it. It was stupid. and this is what they edited out It won't be the last stupid think that a gov employee will ever do.

Looks like there will be no dinner.
I cooked early. Son came home and ate.
Hubby came home and saw a flat tire on son's car.
Now they are changing it before it gets dark.
So, dinner was cooked at 5:30 and I'm still waiting.

Orc took the Versions to the grocery store so I can have some quiet. I'm just about dead on my feet. Call went well, lunch went through on time although I couldn't get the clean up done in time to take the leftovers back to the kitchen so I had to drive there and back (waste of gas, if they'd wait a little longer, or I could clean faster then I could have done it on my way home). Took Ver1 to her in park rehearsal for this weekend's dance performance, Even wore a big floppy hat, because the big guy upstairs cranked the heat to over 80 which is absolutely nuts for April.

Debating between a cold shower, and work.... work might win.

Good day, all. Tonight I attack the laundry. It's been piling up so I'm gonna be at it for a while.

Maisy just got her bath (FLUFFY BUTT!) so that's done.

And I got new bed pillows today! YAY! Been meaning to do that for a while but kept forgetting.

What kind of pillows did you get? I keep buying pillows, but I never like them after a day or two and go back to my old one, so Orc gets new pillows and the guest pillows get better (they were really bad), but mine needs to be replaced soon. I grew up with hand made feather pillows, if that gives you any explanation as to why I'm choosy. I am using a store bought feather pillow now, it's not great, but it works alright. Unfortunately, I don't remember anything about it and it's old enough you can't tell from the fabric or tag.

I hate feather pillows so I won't be any help there. I went to Bed, Bath, & Beyond and chose the Laura Ashley Firm Support (not extra firm). It usually takes me a couple weeks to break in a new pillow. I checked my old ones before I left and they were firm support so I stuck with that.

Darn, thanks anyway. I've finally gotten to the point where I can sleep in a traditional bed easily, I'm sure in another decade or so I will be less picky about pillows (grew up with a waterbed). I also can't stand if my pillowcase is wrinkled, period. Yet, if I'm camping I can sleep on rocks and use my flannel stuffed into my sleeping bag bag as a pillow.... makes no sense.
