Soapstone is very, very soft. We use it for carving molds. Do these eventually wear down and away? Also, they are GRAS - Generally Regarded As Safe... What is the not-generally part of that?

I used these at my very recent birthday party. (Have bought 2 sets of 3 from Woot so far).
