It's a wonder AMD even bothers with processors anymore. I'm guessing it's because the general public has no clue that they're crap. Lol.
Processor is very weak, only 4GB of RAM... For $400, and refurb'd? Nah, it's a pass, my friend.
The Hat had a better processor than this thing
Anyone else's Wootalyzer gone wonky?
Buy this if you have a Acme Garden Plow, that way if it won't run on your Acme Garden Plow it will probably run on this.

Yeah - I got this laptop - then the Sanyo digi recorder again

The processor isn't that bad, over 3000 at passmark. 4GB of ram is plenty for almost everyone out there. If anything, I'd be most concerned that it is a refurbished HP.
newegg has it for $429.99 + free shipping. $25 savings on a junky laptop... No impulse buy for me. ww.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834158277
Hooray! Woot servers are once again able to serve their website up to their parking lot. Next stop, the LBJ freeway.
The F5 button lasts me about 16 months on each new computer I buy, sorry...I have about 4 months left on this one...
be back in 12 hours. MAYBE this will sell by then.

That might be wishful thinking.
Tell me this is an early April Fools. Wonky servers, oddball woots that cling to nearly sold out forever... Please?

Processor may not be THAT bad, and 4GB of RAM might be enough for most, but mediocre processor + 4GB of RAM + Refurb HP != $400.

Me too. The woot site isn't doing much better and probably is causing the wootalyzer issues. I get a lot of error 503 when trying to post in the comments and the gold "how many are left?" bars you get when you hover on the woot home page over wine woot or home woot items always shows 100% available, even when the product is almost sold out.
It's a good entry-level notebook. It can handle some games with the APU solution from AMD, but it won't be playing new games at max settings. Similar to a few previous woots, for example: http://www.woot.com/Forums/ViewPost.aspx?PostID=4858130
yeah, still showing the sanyo junk thingy.

Not for the price it's not. It's a refurb, AMD 1.4 Quad. That should be around $200 max. You can buy much better for the same price.

It's a change in the matrix.

With turbo enabled it will go up to 2.3GHz, which is as simple as changing a few settings.
rugerx wrote:yeah, still showing the sanyo junk thingy.
That is because the Woot api/rss feed is still showing that as the current item up for sale.
Yesterdays woot Laptop definitely better deal even though this has a quad core. This refurb is overpriced by about $60 for a woot.

another interesting theory; and by "change" you mean "glitch"?

You shoudl be worried that it is a HP refurbed notebook. Their support is really bad should you have to work with them during the warranty period. Their objective is to "not support" the equipment and find reasons not to support it. Bob
Best Buy has a laptop with a slightly different model number but pretty much exact same specs for the same price brand new. link
