Hi, it looks like the feeds at api.woot.com have stopped updating again. They're stuck on the Sanyo audio recorder, light saber for kids, etc.

As a result, my Android app is unable to update.

Okay, so it's not just me. I installed one of the apps a few minutes ago and wasn't sure if something was messed up or if the apps just update really slowly.

Yeah, I'm the developer for one of them and it always gets a bit hectic in the inbox when the API goes down. As far as my users can tell, the main site is working, so they think it's the fault of my app.

I was just about to post on this. Very annoying, as this is usually faster at updating than the site itself.

Don't worry, I think the majority of us understand it's not you. Plus, we're willing to wait a bit, as your app is usually SIGNIFICANTLY faster than the site itself!

People are posting in the woot comment threads for the items for sale that the woot servers are having issues, so hopefully people are reading about it there. Guess they picked a bad time for a woot-off, what with the electrical storms in TX and all.

Which app is yours, if you don't mind my asking (and if it doesn't violate any forum advertising rules or whatever)? From the other comments, it sounds like a pretty good one, when the API isn't messed up (which is out of your hands anyways).

It's WootWatcher https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.drclabs.android.wootchecker

It's not very pretty, but I like to think it makes up for its looks in functionality.

Neat, that's the one I'm using. Also, it seems to be working again (although I imagine you probably already know this).

We appreciate everyone's patience with us on this rollercoastery day! Be assured if there are problems with an official app or an official woot feed, it's likely related to any server issues we're having and will be resolved soon.

In the meantime, have pics of rollercoasters!

I'm just hanging out, really.

And now it's stuck again. More server trouble?

Thanks for the alert. I've sent an email to let them know.

The API is still down. I'm getting a 503 error.

It's back up. Thanks.
