Hmm so I can get 2, both in blue. So I will have a set of blue balls. And a spare shaft incase 1 breaks after the 6 month period. A 6 month period would be a horrible thing thus the reason for a set of blue balls, and a broken shaft....

yes...i went there....

If I got the one with pink balls, I'm pretty sure the wife wouldn't touch it.

I've got an inferiority complex...

But not a very good one.

I love my refurb DC25! My only complaint is that it picks up so much dog hair, I have to empty the bin out 2-3 times every time I vacuum.

Got mine from here back in October. Use your old cleaner before, then go back over it with the Dyson - the results will astound you.
LOVE MY DYSON!

They really should have changed the batteries on the servers BEFORE they started the woot-off. I've seen 20 AAA batteries for about $8 on Ebay.

Hmm. I don't mind referb stuff sometimes but I have to say... I'm a little leery when it's referbed and you can get it in your choice of 5 colors. So, how did that happen?? That's a LOT of vacuums to referb. Wonder if it was a recall or something that was fixed.

I bought one for my wife and she thought she hated it, until she used it. Now she thinks it's the cat's meow. Small, light, manueverable and sucks like no other. I don't mind using it either.

Skunkmonkey wrote:I'm just curious. If Dyson products are so well-engineered and don't lose suction and all that, why are there so many refurbs? Though many people speak very highly of Dyson produts, I'm leery to jump because it appears that a great deal of them get sent back.

Has anyone ever had to return a Dyson? If so, what for, so that we might know why many of these are refurbished.

I returned this very model. I purchased mine brand new. Was all excited... until I received it. Yes its light weight... but thats because the entire thing is made almost entirely of plastic. Granted some of the plastic is tough ABS but other plastic parts are cheap styrene. In any event all that plastic squeaks whenever you move it. To me (due to all the plastic) it looked and felt like a childs toy vacuum. On inspection I couldn't justify the price for all that plastic. I googled it and found too many other owners complaining of the plastic pieces breaking... so I returned it.

I wonder if you can trick these things out? Like from the pic it looks like you should add some headers and some exhaust.

Woo Hoo! I've been wanting to update my old animal dyson! If you have animals in the house this is a must-have vacuum! My old dyson doesn't go from carpet to wood floor. Since I put in the wood floors I have been manually sweeping and that sucks. Now I can just vacuum the bedrooms and move right into the rest of the house! So excited!

After buying two vacuums in two years I finally got a Dyson and it is worth it. It is the best vacuum I have ever owned. Way better than that sorry Eureeka that claims to be better than a Dyson. It quit working after 3 months and didn't pick up near as much.

The trouble with vacuums is that when you read a review that says it really sucks you have to wonder if that's a compliment or a complaint.

Simple answer... No! Although the power head is compact it is not designed to be able to reach under furniture. Also, be aware the ball obstructs the power head's ability to offer edge cleaning under kitchen cabinets.

The one thing is does really good is pick up pet hair. That said, I returned mine and went with a consumers top rated vacuum that would fit under sofas, beds etc and also received top scores for picking up pet hair.

I bought one the last time around. I can't tell that it is 'refurbished'; it looks brand new, or at least did when I got it. Works like a charm and does exactly what they say it will do. The only negative is that it doesn't lay flat enough to get under the coffee table. There's a hose for that though.

We tried two different Dysons, and were unimpressed by them both.

Finally got a Shark Navigator Pro ($50 less than this, brand new on Amazon) and I have been so thrilled with it, I have twice told random strangers at the grocery store about it. LOL

I actually held off getting it in the hopes it would come up on Woot, but to no avail... doesn't matter, it was worth every one of the 19,999 pennies we paid for it. *grinning*

Having aerospace electronics experience and having repaired a different model Dyson myself due to dog-chewing-cord issues, I can attest to the build quality of their products. The things come apart like a lego set when they need to. No cheap parts or corner cutting. This tells me that like RWoodward said, a lot of these are probably buyer's remorse returns. I would trust a Dyson refurb more than other refurb items because of this.

I am on the fence here.. I already have a Dyson but it's not a blue ball one...

A raised up (say 4 inch) couch or bed yes for the first half foot in. Don't know about dogs belly's but if it gets anywhere near my cats, they're hiding in cabinets with the potatoes.
