Bye Bye Carbonite!

Calling an Illegal alien an "undocumented worker" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist"

Why? You can get years of Carbonite, Back Blaze or Mozy service for the price of this. My Back Blaze is unlimited and backs up externals.

Plus a single harddrive is more likely to fail than off site servers. Monetary warranty is fine but I wan't my photos forever.

Sounded interesting until I got to the part where it is only a single drive. If this was a pair of 1TB drives in a RAID1 (mirror set) I could see going for it.

Is it crazy that it breaks my heart to see a yellow square next to my name as if I only had 1 woot? I know I have well over 30 in the last 4 months. Please gimme my purple square back, I promise to buy more! I even tweeted my type A wooter status last night. Wait perhaps if I just buy 30 more items today Ill get a new purple square!

My husband tells me to wait till yall fix the bugs but whats he know? ;) 30 more items it is!

It's $363 on J & R: http://www.jr.com/iosafe/pe/IS1_SH2000GB1YR/ and Newegg has one really glowing review (although it's out of stock): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822501026

I don't see a yellow square (for you, I mean). If you want to see the right color, log out and back in.

Totall agree.
I would also expect it to be NAS at this price point.

Wow, Illinois is Wooting like crazy, they must be hiding all the political records on the external drive for a quick get away!

It's a back up device. I got the 1.5T unit off a previous WOOT. I got it hung on my Time Capsule purely as a guard against fire or other physical disaster.

Why is this so big? Is it have to be to make it waterproof and fireproof? I have a 2 TB WD external harddrive for my Dish DVR and it is 7.01" x 4.59" x 1.42".

Interesting, a water proof enclosure for a Hard Drive.

For that data you never want to loose (until the Hard Drive itself dies)

I"m appalled that no one has bought 3 of these.

Maybe the people at Pirate Bay should buy several of these. You know for when the RIAA fire-bombs them.

I agree,I have Carbonite, and have had it two years, and so far I have used it when my wife's hard drive quit, and mind about two months ago, when my hard drive took the big dump.I have had a external hard, and it died, that's when I bought,Carbonite.I will never again use a external hard drive.
