I'd have to see what the fishermen looked like before I bought them! <3

Easily concealable fishing pole for when you need to sneak out to fish but don't want to let on to what you are doing.

In for one as a gift to my hubby. He can keep it in the car in case he finds an inviting watering hole.

For the price I would say that it is a good buy. However the downside to have the line being covered up on the reel is that if it jams it is very inconvenient to deal with.

Do these come pre-spooled? If so, what's the pound test of the line?

Couple of really interesting items - don't think I have ever seen these 2 before.....not that I bought either - but they were curious additions to the woot suite of stuff.....

Wondering the exact same thing.

I purchased these the last time around. They're nice and fit in my little backpack well and is great for my lunch fishing breaks and has served me well while camping.

Once it's extended, the pole is pretty sturdy.

The only problem I had with them was the line getting bound up pretty easily. Being that the spool is internal, you have to take the handle apart to fix it. But this was a minor problem because I had two and always carry pliers with me anyway.

They don't come with hooks. So get yourself a little cheap rigging set from your favorite sports or big box store.

Seems to me, if I were traveling, I could spend the same $ on a better rod/reel combo at Walmart to satisfy my fishing desires, then leave the rod with some bug-eyed kid, with his dreams of hooking the "big one", when I'm done.

Not a RonCo pocket fisherman = pass

Nothing like the old Pocket Fisherman by Popeil.

Just the same, these look like they would stow away nicely on the boat.
