I'm tempted, I really am. But a 4 D cell flashlight with additional weight and length for a view screen and crazy buttons to boot?

"Hold on just a second there Mr. Bear. No, don't move, just stand there. I've gotta get this 20 pound fancy flashlight out of my backpack to see you in the gloom and record you."

Yeah, that's going to be useful, and it's only slightly less than buying a functional pair of consumer or early gen NVG's. Hooray? On the flip side, if you do have this and run across a bear you can always use it as a drop weapon. You know, drop it on the bear to knock it out.

Before I know it, the bad guys are chasing me. I don't slip (thank you PakTrax) but they have no problem following me, due to my glowing, reflective garb...

Note to self: Pick one, either don't get run over, or go stealth for recording the next big "Gotcha" video...

Revenue per hour - i.e. total $$ from sales, divided by the length of time the product has been available for.

Not really. The damn thing is long and unwieldy. Very heavy. It only records 100 minutes at a time. Most investigations are overnight. Around 8 hours. No way I want to stop and recharge/reload or hold something this heavy for hours at a time. This really is for security; I'd never take one of these ghost hunting. The best cameras for that are the old Sony ones with night-vision. Um. Not that I'd know anything about that. Okay. Yeah. I would. [*hangs head in shame*]

Looks like a moderately bright light (not focusable?) and doesn't say how bright the IR light is. I assume the camera can record in either daylight or IR, which is kind of unusual, it must be set to automatically adjust depending on the available light or the mode of the flashlight?

I see just a small LCD screen on the side, I assume to indicate storage on the flash. So there's no way to SEE what you are recording when doing the IR recording. Then what, go back to the computer to see what was in front of the flashlight 20 minutes ago? Doesn't look too useful to me? Too expensive to play around with.

Sorry, but quite possibly the dumbest question ever asked...

But to answer, uhm, so you don't have to even turn the flashlight on to see where you are going or record... DUH! It's called "tactical".

Actually, it is a monitor for real time viewing. This thing is awesome! I bought another one today- one for home, one for office. You really can not appreciate its incredible quality unless you see (and hold) it in person. Great security tool & backup weapon.
