I do believe that pending authorizations are just that: pending.

from what I understood from my bank accounts- when an account has a pending authorization, it is authorizing a purchase that is of that amount. If a transaction is cancelled (or the amount not fully used, as is the case here) the authorization does not immediately go away, but it will eventually, and the amount will not be charged (or as in the case here, the *new* lower price will be charged)

this pending authorization is why sometimes, when people are making a purchase that puts them close to their credit limit, then cancel the transaction at the last minute and re-do the order, the second one will decline the card. there just isn't enough funding to authorize a SECOND amount for that much... AGAIN. the problem is often easily remedied by calling the credit center and removing the initial authorization and freeing up that credit.

that last paragraph is just an FYI- in your case, your account *authorized* the higher price, but in the end i would assume you'd see the lower price as the actual amount charged.
