How about "compatibility"?

I just tried to import a document from Word 2003 into Word 2002, using their save as Word 97-2002 export filter, and it just crashes the old version of Word. Had to convert to a RTF. Jeez, Microsoft can't even keep their own program working.

I used ot have an image "save as" program called Hijaack that would save any image in any other image type. It was great, though now the programs do that themselves.

Don't be humbled.

Tell me if I should be worried more about bird/avian flu or mad cow or terrorist smallpox attacks.

prolly mad cow if anything. Flu season is almost over, so there may be another year before it gets us. smallpox is no big deal, unles you happen to be one of the firrst victims and they don't recognize it fast enough.

Mad cow, though...we're probably safe, but we won't know u ntil its killing us if we aren't safe. And then its too late.

Of course, bird flu might kill a lot of people when it hits- it'll happen first in Asia, though, and we should have some warning. I think.

I may be remembering this wrong, but: I read a (nonfiction) book where some guy (some scientist-type) was recounting a visit to a Soviet? Russian? bio-lab, where someone claimed they were working with smallpox (surprised the hell out of the guy!). They were putting him into some sort of biohazard suit. He said he wasn't worried, he had been inoculated agaist smallpox. They told him that the American vaccines might not be as effective as he thought against the strains they had there. Scary stuff.
