Poof, I use either my hand held mixer or my Kitchenaid stand mixer. It depends on how many are eating. Oh and have you ever tried using Carnation milk in your mashed potatoes? Yum!

Not at all.. It doesn't take long to rice 5lbs of potatoes and then mix with butter and cream.. And half the time they end up in the oven to get a crust or as part of a cottage pie.

I never used to make decent mashed potatoes. Hand mixer. They were either lumpy or gluey. I now use Ore-Ida Steam 'n Mash russet potatoes. They're fantastic. Real potatoes. I cut down on the microwave time and cut short on the milk, but they're as good or better than I usually made. Hand smasher.
