Got this the last time. Love it. Had a little hiccup when it was upgraded to Gingerbread, but after a couple of reboots it's worked like a champ.

I bought my wife one for Christmas. She LOVES it. Its perfect for everything she wants a tablet for, and it didn't break my bank!

I would definitely buy one if your in the market.

Bought one new for my wife at walmart in January for $199. Not an ipad, but does a great job for all basic tablet stuff. If you get one, I'd recommend dowloading a launcher app to replace the one that comes with the unit. Very happy overall.

My cell phone gets really hot when I watch videos or baseball games on it, Also the battery dies in an hour on my phone.

Will this get hot, and how long will the battery last while watching movies/baseball?

Really a decent value buy. Yeah, yeah. The memory thing. Hey, you're not getting an IPOD or a Xoom at this price point, but for MOST applications, this one will do, and the resolution is rather excellent. Think of it as the netbook of pads.

My friend got this last time and loves it. It works really well. Great tablet for the price. No it's not an ipad or even competes with one, but for the price it's great. you can internet, watch movies, add storage, hdmi, and play angry birds.

That must be one of the most graphically annoying and least informative manufacturer's sites on the interwebz.

Are they actively trying to drive people away?

Too bad HDMI isn't "in" too so you could hookup a camera to it to preview pics in the field on a much larger screen.

Got 2 for my kids before Christmas, and 1 of them came with a loose USB port, which I got replaced quickly by WOOT. As a device, they like it very much. Not as good as my Thrive, so if you want something more powerful, get the Toshiba Thrive instead.

This can be updated to Honeycomb (Android 3.0) and probably IceCreamSandwich (Android 4.0). See here.

I have had major serious problems with it since the upgrade.

Until the upgrade I loved it and used it constantly. Since the upgrade I have completely stopped using it and I am considering selling it.

My favorite apps, including Jetflicks no longer work at all. Also the buttons on the frame no longer work and you are forced to use the software buttons inside the screen which significantly reduces the size of the already very small screen.

I went from loving this tablet to hating it because of the upgrade. I wish I could send it back and I certainly do not recommend it.

Appears to be the same product and package, just $50 more plus $9 s/h. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007JYX5MK?ie=UTF8&ref=aw_bottom_links&force-full-site=1. I'd stick with woot.

$190 at Costco but without the folio case or HDMI cable. The HDMI cables are cheap at monoprice or meritline but those folio cases hit $30 and more easily. So it turns out to be not a bad deal for the whole package.

Quick Start Manual at Viso Website. The -B suffix denotes a refurb model.

No offical word from Viso about Ice Cream Sandwich ICS that I could find, but I think that Honeycomb Android 3.x is avaiable as an OTA upgrade, see here.

Where did I put my my quill and inkpot?

Got mine for Xmas, I love it, kids love it, we are always playing with it. I HAVE NEVER had any problems, honestly, this has been more reliable than my HP Touchpad! I may pick up another (or 3, tee hee)!

Sorry, I hadn't heard of camelcamelcamel.com before now. It's coming up on 10:30 p.m. PDT on the 6th in Seattle, where Amazon is, so I was a little confused by your post.

But what's the advantage to rooting? This comes with Android Market (which presumably is upgraded to Google Play after activation). That seems to be the biggest reason to root most tablets.

(Plus, how? It doesn't have a forum on XDA.)

Is it better to get this tablet or a Kindle Fire instead? I was going to get a Kindle Fire but maybe this is a better deal?

I belive you it's good tablet but better than the Touchpad, I don't. I love my touchpad with cyanogenmod 9.

Amazon had a goldbox deal on the refurbished Fire for $139 with 1 year warranty on 3/29/12. SO, it depends on which you think is the better tablet for the price and if you want to wait for Amazon to discount the Fire again.

I'm too late on the goldbox deal, I missed it.

I love to read and my ebooks are Kindle, I read them on my kindle app on my phone. So I want to read Kindle on a tablet format, and be able to surf the web a little bit when I'm hooked up to the wifi at home. My needs are pretty basic, I just want to read and go online.

If you want tablet that has blue tooth, camera for videocall, microphone, GPS, sd card slot, google androidmarket, hardware volume buttons, maps, than DO NOT buy Kindle as it lacks all of the above.

That's a good point, darkomandic.

Wait for the "Kindle Fire-killer" Google Tablet that will be selling for $199 later this year in the Google Store with ICS.
