I think "the Robot" from the "Lost in Space" TV series was the best robot ever, even if it was a campy knockoff of the "Forbidden Planet" robot. "Danger Will Robinson!" is a classic TV quote. The backup would have to be "Number 5" from "Short Circuit".

I'd have to give it to Bender, followed by Kryten from Red Dwarf and then Tom Servo.

First thought was Robot from Lost in Space. But after reading comments, Rosie from Jetsons is definitely a close second!

I find it dumb and mildly offensive that Bender is not included in this poll. I propose a re-poll, with Bender included as a candidate so the other robots may have the opportunity to shudder beneath his presence.

First one to come to mind was Lost in Space, don't forget the Android from Aliens named Bishop! Also, R2D2 and C3PO...Rosie from the Jetson's not a big deal but the others you all mention I'm not familiar -I grew up in the 70's & 80's!

Lost in Space.

Now that I'm reading the comments, people are talking about Bender and Data.
You say robot, and I don't think Data, he was too human.
Bender too.

The first thing I thought of was Danger Will Roberson, Danger! and flailing of metal arms!

So I vote Lost in Space.
Don't like it? Bite my shiny metal ass!

Of course, I'm the same age as Will Roberson (goes to google to check) Yep, he is 2 months older than me.

Bender would be second.

Data is too human.

WE LURV YOU TOO! Dork!!!
No greater love is lost than that not shared.
