Android Ice Cream Sandwich is available to load on this. It's still an Alpha release, but is rather stable and full featured.

I have has a lot of issues with WebOS by cyanogen mods with Android have been pretty great.

$250 would have been a great deal 6 months ago but not now. New tablets coming out very soon will have better features for same price.

Meh. Tablets. Don't see the point. awkward to hold, suck to type out an email on 'em... really really don't see the point when a netbook does more and seems less fragile.

Yes, you can put Android on it, but webOS is so awesome, and Open webOS is due in September.

Also, Zite is available for this - came out before Android. Check it out, very cool app.

And where did enough new ones turn up to make it worth a daylong woot sale?

I love mine. I have WebOS dual-booting with Android ICS. Good deal.

Very tempting...I have the 16 gig model and I love it.

My interest is in getting this one for me and giving the 16 to my wife or parents, dunno though.

I have one! Added Android and it's works great on WebOS AND Android ICS.

Does ICS run pretty good on this? Want a game system for our son (so I can get my phone back!) but WebOS isn't the way to go, at least for now.

Woot probably snapped up a couple thousand directly from HP when (or even before) they went on fire sale and are making a nice profit now after the furor died down.

I bought a refurb 16 last time they were around. ICS works great. Slightly more work in getting it running than say rooting your phone, but totally worth it.

I'm one of the users that have some of the wifi glitchyness... but after updating to the latest nightly build, it seems to be golden. Wifi has been strong all day.

It took 2 tries to mine to work right (battery wouldn't charge). After that, everything seems to be fine.

How's the battery life on this?

The main drawback, at the moment, to running Android ICS on these, is lack of camera support. But gaming, media playback, etc. are all working well!

Android and WebOS dual-boot, so you don't have to disable the native OS to enable Android.

Conversion process is easy too - great guides available online.

pdf e-reader...yes, at least 3 good pdf reader apps.
outside use...there is an enormous amount of glare.

I'm still only running WebOS on mine. I was waiting for ICS to come out for it, but apparently, after reading some posts, it already has.

WebOS feels barren, compared to what's available for my Ipad 2. That's what I mostly use and the TP is just so I can surf the web, while my daughter is hogging up the iPad (which is most of the time).

Drop another hundred smackers on the fire sale and you've got yourself A refurb iPad Deuce with a 1 year apple warranty.

Bought my Touchpad during the firesale for the sole purpose of reading comic books.
Best decision ever.

Anything with an LCD (including an iPad) will wash out in bright sunlight, but still usable on high brightness in most cases. An e-ink reader (like a classic Kindle, not Fire) is far better in sunlight, but no color and slow screen response, etc.

How well does the TouchPad work with a capacitive stylus?

Could I use it to easily take notes (in particular for a math/physics class where I would need to write out symbols and equations?)

Wow... the price went up $100 since HP stopped making them. Funny... I remember HP sending me an email saying there were absolutely no more to be had... Until demand had been driven up. I also agree with others... Better tablets are available now.

Meh. I agree with dliidlii -- if all you care about is ICS, there are plenty of better and often cheaper options. WebOS has some interesting feature ideas, but even the most recent update is nowhere near finished, and it was a better phone OS than a tablet OS.

So happy with ICS on my 32GB TP, works like a charm.

Anyone know what the discount is on this from the original price?
