I didn't get this helicopter, but I did get a fly by night batman helicopter in my recent box of crap, and the instructions do indeed say do not fly outside because the sunlight messes with the connection. Of course, I promptly took mine outside anyway to play and had the same thing happen, only replace roof with koi pond.

I have to say though, I know my batman helicopter is super fun, I bet this thing is too once you start to get the hang of it.

A helicopter in the hand is worth two on the roof.

I have a similar helicopter and it's easy and fun to fly, but the term "radio control" is really misleading. These helicopters are controlled by infrared LIGHT, not what most of us think about when we hear the term "radio control" - and yes, the Sun DOES emit infrared light which is why it messes with the controller's interaction.

True, radio AND infrared are both part of the non-visible spectrum of electromagnetic radiation but in functionality they're quite different. If you're geeky enough to be interested in the science behind this, read http://imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/science/know_l1/emspectrum.html

I've never heard a TV remote referred to with the term "radio control" either.

I loved the video, but man, someone needs to trim that heli out!
