I owned a pair of these (at 2-3 times this price), and while they were great for around the apartment, they didn't last for many workouts; after a few mid-distance runs and a half marathon, the sweat found its way inside and ended their brief life (despite the "sweat-proof" claims).

However, at this price, I'm considering giving them another shot (and leaving them off during more sweaty exercise).

Another note: these are not for the large of head; the back piece is rigid and there's only so much give in the flexible sides.

A friend of mine bought a pair of these for 70 dollars on sale at walmart a couple months ago, then returned them, and purchased them at Best Buy for 40-50 on sale a week or two later, and he loves them. So $25 for a refurb has me sold on it.

So... to be honest... I bought these from NewEgg for about $45, I sold them to a coworker for $40.

The sound quality is amazing. But if you have a bigger head, they aren't flexible and all.

But the person I sold them to, love them.

herrojima wrote:OKAY FOLKS, I have a pair of these, well these type/similar. Lemme give you some RUN DOOOOOWN.

Okay so, first of all, these appear to be the Gen2, so that's a good start. The Gen1s apparently broke down a lot, the Gen2s are fairly solid in lifespan. Had mine since Christmas, still going strong.

Okay actually using them. The sound is pretty good for quality and volume, however if they don't fit in your ear for the most part, then they won't be that loud, if you like it loud, or you're in a loud environment. A minor issue, I'm making it sound worse than it is.

The biggest issue with these. So they are made for sport use, so they have a fairly tight fit. Like, a really tight fit. If you have a medium to large size head, and glasses like me, you'll have some discomfort after about an hour or two of use. You'll want to stretch them out somehow for a week or so.

Range and battery. AMAZING. simply amazing. I've never had it just die out of power without giving it a reasonable charging practice. Plug it in after some use to my computer, and it's been good to go when I needed it. Although it does not have a batter monitor to it. The range, I've used it easily across my house without it cutting out.

The phone portion. The mic on mine is terrible. Because it picks up starting out at your ear, it has to pick up a LOT of area, and the quality is lackluster, but it can get the job down. The slightest amount of wind though wreaks havoc with people hearing you.

Anyway. I paid WAY more for mine, and I think it was worth what I paid. This is a GREAT price, and if you're looking for some headphones for your phone/ipod/etc when you're on the run, or your computer/laptop (if you have a bluetooth system in it), these are a pretty solid option to consider vs other wireless headsets.

I think this would be the perfect review if it mentioned the one other flaw these have, which is the annoying beep every 2 minutes during the last half hour to forty five minutes of battery life. Not a problem if you keep them charged. The tight fit is spot on very painfull to wear at first, but after a month or two of 2 hrs a day of use, they are almost comfortable.

I would advise against it, due to battery limitations on most bluetooth headsets. There's a reason those wireless headphones designed for PC's are so much bigger (bigger batteries, charging station, dedicated rf transmitter) and expensive.

EDIT: BUT, if you would like to dual-purpose this, you should be able to use it like any other bluetooth device with your pc, providing you have a bluetooth dongle/adapter, or built in capability. Just don't expect stellar quality, especially if the receiver/transmitter is on the back of the computer, and plan to have to charge it every couple hours of use. i.e. you could go cordless a few hours a day if you liked.

There's a review from PC Mag here and it's not pretty.

I personally own the S9-HD version that was replaced by this model. I was going to go with the S10-HD at first, but after reading reviews, most of them had one complaint in common: crappy audio quality. Everyone said that the S9-HD was WAY better in audio quality. Now that I have my S9's, I must say that for bluetooth headphones, they do sound pretty freakin' good. IMHO.

Mine are great for running and working out...this is a great price for them.
I agree with some of the others though...buds are a bit uncomfortable, tips can get lost ( but they offer inexpensive replacement sets), call quality isn't the best ....but really for $30 bucks these are pretty awesome! I'm thinking Christmas gifts for family.

This is a great price I paid $60 for my SD-9s and I saw these at Costco over xmas for $59.00.

I love to use mine for working out and going for walks. They come in really handy when I want to listen to something but my iphone needs to be charged so I doc it and do stuff around the house. I especially like them when Im doing projects around the house since the wires don't get tangled.

The cons of these are the volume is not that great but Ive noticed this is mostly with Podcasts, I seem to more range when playing musing regular music.

The microphone is not great, I have had a lot of people complain about the noise from them especially while I am driving which is when I really need a handsfee headset. The don't feel great when your lying down with head of a pillow.

Ive tried to use these with my PC and it was awful but that could just be any bluetooth headset and my PC.

this is such a great price Im debating about getting another since they do work great for exercise and working around the house. I especially love how I can hang around my neck when not using.

Your manufacturer might have provided an alternate bluetooth stack that does support them, but the Microsoft-provided stack is pretty worthless for headsets. So you can't necessarily use these for Skype or listening at your desk.

Maybe it's the brand of bluetooth adapter I have, but my stack works beautifully with bluetooth headsets. I've used a couple different ones on a lark, and each has worked to some degree, but in an always on kind of way. Only "feature" that seems to work is the mic mute on some headsets. Basically, if it's connected, it's always on, which can wreak havok on battery life.

I've had these for over a year now. I jog one to 6 miles and soak them with sweat. They keep going and going. The ear rubber falls off very easily, so watch that because the wrong fit with any headphones is not ideal. Mine came with 3 sizes. The volume is great. I like to listen to my music very loud while I work out. I wrap a bandana around my head to squeeze the buds into my ears which makes it about twice as loud, and possibly keeps sweat from flowing directly into it. Works better than any of the other 5 or so bluetooth headsets I've bought off woot for making phone calls, though with a bandana and hat on it's a bit muffled. I highly recommend.

I'm sure there will be tons of audiophiles to tell me how wrong I am for doing it but you know what... i never have lost those silly little bud covers on any of my ear buds.

while they sounded good and worked well for everything, they were total misery to wear and use

bought a pair of Platronics ones, cheaper, sounds better, so much more comfortable

I have a pair charging in my room right now. I paid almost 80 bucks for em. you can get a pair on sale for around $50 if you can catch one but I'd say it's worth the price.

I've had mine since January I bought them to compliment my Motoactv I did'nt want to have a cord going from my wrst to my ears. The armbands are bad enough as is. So I bought a pair.

They sound awesome. There is a volume button on one side and a track control on the other. They can cut out if you put too much body between your music source and the headphones(like most bluetooths), but the line of site range is pretty good I can put my motoactv just about anywhere in the house and still hear music.

I personally havent't had any problem with sweat though I did have to return a pair I left in the sun. Something got too hot and it stopped working after that. But pair two is going strong for 4 months now.

If you on the fence and you got the money to spare pull the trigger. When I don't run with these I use them to listen to music while I cut the grass. And when my Wife needs me she calls me on the headsets. I love em.

Please do not wear these while driving. I'm pretty sure it's illegal in some places to have something in BOTH ears while driving, and regardless of where you are, it's ALWAYS a bad idea, even if it isn't legal. With something that goes IN your ear canal, it doesn't take much sound at all to block out almost all external sound, including the horn of that Semi that is about to slam into your car.

I'm tempted, for the wife.

I started with a pair of "Asian Knockoff" S9's from eBay. Worked ok and sounded fine, until it got even a little sweat on it. Then it would still play, but none of the buttons would work, including the power button - I'd have to turn off bluetooth on my iPhone, at which point the "S9" would time out after a few minutes and power down. Once it dried out, it would be fine again. I eventually broke the band.

I now use a pair of LG Tones, which I'm very happy with. They are a little unusual in that you wear the thing around your neck, and there is a very short cord connecting each earbud to the main device. The upside is the earbud, where most of the sweat will be, is far from the control unit, which stays relatively dry. I've been using it since before Christmas 3+ times a week working out and it's going strong.

Maybe it's a technique thing, like how you're wearing them. My buddy loves his, and he's got a huge head...even bigger than my 7-7/8 melon.

Have a set of these, but they hurt my ears for the first month until I got them trained. Even then, they were still painful on occasions. On the plus side, they are built like a Russian tank! I've worn them to work in the rain/snow/sleet and they play on and on.

But, they hurt.

I've moved on the the LG-HBS700.

Should be no problem. You would need to get a little usb to bluetooth such as http://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Wireless-Bluetooth-Adapter-BT-USBT/dp/B002SBF108/ref=sr_1_40?ie=UTF8&qid=1334903047&sr=8-40

Not a bad price. But refurbished headphones? Hmm...

I've owned many of these. Both generic (made in China) as well as the Motorola version. I've purchased several S9s and recently purchased the S10.

The S9 is awesome! It wasn't too heavy for running and it's really nice to not to have to worry about a cord getting in the way. Like others have said, making/receiving phone calls is pointless. Totally sucks. But I don't wear these for phone calls. I wear it to exercise.

The S10s seem to be of better quality (my S9 broke at one of the joints) but the design is slightly different in that, when I wear them, the ear pieces really seal out noise. Now, unlike the S9, I can't really much hear outside noise (which I sorta liked and was used to). The S10s seal out much more noise.

Easy to pair up and, for this price, I suppose you can't really lose. My first S9 pair was around $100 and that was over 5 years ago. Love these things!

I know there's a lot of model specific fans out there but I've had the S9 for over a year now and love it. The 10 hit shortly after I received it as a gift and I can't say I wish I had the 10 because the one I received was good enough.

I believe, not sure, the difference between the 9 and the 10 is that the 10 has batteries that can be charged indiscriminately. The instructions on the 9 warn against over-charging.

The blue-tooth works well and easily.

I had some non-adjustable, behind-the-head bluetooth headphones (Logitec) - but never again. Maximum wear time was about 40 minutes before they got too uncomfortable to wear.

My current phones are Samsung, over-the-head, fully adjustable, with well-padded gimbled ear cups. I can wear them for hours on end.

Heads-up on the Motorola undocumented policy on exchanges for these when damaged by sweat: give it a shot. Both a colleague and I have had 3 of them between us replaced by Motorola due to a "known issue" of damage by sweat. Note these exchanges with Moto direct were on the S9 model.

Of course, YMMV, but my advice is don't just pitch them; give Moto a shout.
