In for two sets. I just purchased two of the no-filter versions of these bottles for this much each. We have quite a collection of the Better Bottles, some of which we've had for more than 5 years of use and abuse. We've only lost a couple of lids in that time, and Camelbak replaced them for us. Expanding the collection for my son.

Yes, these are slightly smaller. The height is about 1.5" less (eyeballed) and the circumference is slightly less. The lids are interchangeable though. The sleeves also work for both.

Thank you for something that isn't a refurbished camera, or iPod. Really, Woot used to have a huge variety of things that would come up for sale, but now it's all refurbished electronics at barely-competitive prices.

I'd like to see more, keep it up!

Has anyone tested this bottle with chlorine solution the way this guy did with these 3 bottles?

Have had one of these for months. Great for class, minor hikes, etc., never concerned about the water I'm drinking. To be honest, I use this one the most (over my standard camelpak bottles) -- even putting filtered water in it.

It is slightly smaller than their standard bottle, I wouldn't use it for a true 'hike,' rather just have a hydration pack. But for around town, class or in the car (in a purse?), it's perfect.

These are not insulated, so sweating yes, warm water yes. CamelBak does have doublewalled insulated bottles.

No. There is a one way valve that allows air to enter as you're drinking.

fzzzt wrote:These bottles are NOT spill-proof. Maybe the bite valve itself is, but the top as a whole is not; just ask my backpack and notebook computer. While I was walking, the shaking (I guess) caused water to spill out all over my backpack. I tried shaking it (gently) after that and sure enough it flung drops around...

I carried one of the Camelbak bottles around with me when I was in the Army. It rolled around in Hum-Vees, got crammed in my pack, and all other sorts of things, and never leaked. The Camelbak bottle is quite spill proof. Maybe you just don't know how to tighten a simple screw cap properly. Remember, righty-tighty, lefty-loosey.

I bought one of these 8 months ago for 25 bucks. Awesome. I have terrible tap water in this area and the filter even makes this water drinkable.

You have to keep these very clean and store them so they dry well. I had two comparable CB bottles without the filter and eventually they developed black 'cruft' inside the bendable straw that squeezes it shut. It seems unlikely that would happen when you use only water but still it does. The top can be pulled apart but can't be put together anymore so it can't be maintained. Well, mine can't.

The other drawback is that the bite valve is exposed so it can get dirty. I'm not sure it's meaningful to filter your water and then have a dirty bite valve in your mouth.

For that reason I prefer simpler bottles with screw on tops or other valves that protect the surface where you put you mouth. I fill it with filtered water at home. The filter in this bottle is nice if you plan to fill it away from home of course.

My previously water averse, college-aged daughter has been reborn since getting a CamelBak. She sleeps with the dang thing!

This had led to a decrease in our hospital bills, as she is a kidney-stone-making machine.

All hail the CamelBak! I'm in for 2 sets.

Fluoride calcifies the pineal gland which separates the mind from the soul. I bet they didn't teach you that in med school. I bet they did teach you how to prescribe pharmaceuticals for everything though.

This saved me so much money at the airport -- A recent trip to Europe had me taking this (empty) through security in the airports, and then I had water out of the faucets and fountains for all my layovers, no matter how long, for free.

It always tastes great, and the bite-valve is awesome -- it also comes on every shift on the ambulance. Two valves up from this girl.

Seriously.

Aside from pineal advice, has anyone else gotten replacement lids for free from CB? Did I misunderstand the previous post or can I get a new lid for my busted better bottle?

I just bought one at Target for 15 bucks... and I nabbed one of these deals too, cause I just love them!

I have had one incident in the past where the top broke off, but one call to Camelbak fixed that, as they were gracious enough to send a replacement. Great company overall!

This is a good deal if you are into this sort of thing. I used mine for a while and then decided that I am really not a big fan of the bite valve. It was too much like a sippy cup and you kinda have to suck hard because the straw is wide, also it didn't really seem to hold enough water for hiking. So the two pack is a good idea but if you are going to be out all day you need at least 2 per person or carry a bigger jug to fill it. I use a regular camelbak pack for hiking and fill it with my brita piture...
