This was a great purchase for me. I regularly find myself hoping at 11:59PM, the next days deals will somehow end up saving me money. While ninety percent of what I see is much lower than average cost, and sometimes ridiculously low, I can't force myself to purchase it as I don't have a need for whatever that item may be.
I've purchased four items from Woot : A Leatherman freestyle knife; an Invicta watch; I can't even remember my first purchase...a two for Tuesday filtered water pitchers (both of which are in the possession of former roommates), and these Camelbak filtered water bottles. I've enjoyed anything I've purchased from Woot, but these water bottles (after a week of use) have already fulfilled their money's worth.
My workplace doesn't have easy access to tap water, and the taste is awful anyway, so I always end up purchasing a bottle of water, or drinking something unhealthy like Coke or Red Bull. I haven't purchased a single drink since I unwrapped these amazing bottles. My mind is at ease knowing it produces clean, fresh tasting water; it's easy to refill; has a non-drip design; and instead of having to lean back and focus my attention every time I want a drink, I just pick it up and aimlessly shove the spout towards my face which eventually finds my mouth, then bite and sip. The last sentence finished off describing an incredibly lazy way of drinking, but hey, sometimes it's nice to keep focus on my work rather than take a 5 second break every time I'm parched. In fact, every now and then I'll take it a step further in laziness, reaching my face towards the spout, then sip it like a 5 year old drinks through a straw without having to pick up the bottle at all! It's a close third in easiest way to attain liquid, after IV's and nursing.
What I'm trying to get at, is the bottles are a great purchase. It mentions to replace the filter after three months (assuming you refill it 3-4 times a day), so overall I'm going to "milk" these for all they can withstand.
I'm sure they're great for rock climbers too, the lid has a clip-on design that would work perfectly with a carabinar.
