Looks like you can buy 3 different styles ("sumptuous Mandolina, sleek Carolina, elegant Maderno") for whatever you're feeling like serving or for different occasions or holidays or events, depending on what you or your significant other is feeling like. Always good having more options.

Only a little over a $1 per piece ($1.23 each pc.) for the well known, popular Oneida brand name. Whatta nice deal! Good time to get prepared for the Spring & Summer wedding season with some fine gifts.

Home.Woot's Oneida Montego 62-Piece Flatware Set on April 12, 2012

i purchased that set (which was $15 cheaper for 3 less serving pieces than this set.). I will be surprised if this one sells out as quickly because of the design. Then again, I wouldn't really be surprised to find myself out of touch with what the masses enjoy. I mean no offense to anybody. I just prefer a simpler, more modern design. This pattern looks so antiquated to me.

Edit: Just saw that there are THREE sets to choose from. Carolina is not too bad. Still not for me, but a nice offering from Woot nonetheless.

Excellent deal on quality flatware. Oneida holds up well. Just ordered the Maderno set to replace an incomplete set of Oneida flatware that my future ex-wife left me with from our wedding gifts of 14 years ago. She kept a full setting for 8 and left me with the odds-n-ends. So I'm sticking with Oneida and starting over with a new style... hahaha

This is an awesome deal.

We have service for 12 in another Oneida pattern and it still looks brand new after 5 years. It has a great hand feel and a good weight. They're a great size, even for my tall husband and both of our long fingers/hands.

And I think I paid more for a service for 8 + serving pieces off ebay.

(No, I didn't buy one set for myself. I bought them for Juan so he could stop stealing my forks and spoons every time he comes over for gellato.)

This is such an awesome price. I bought the Carolina. I have (had) Oneida now. 2 different sets. I have had them for like 30 years. Unfortunately, I am missing several pieces. Yesterday, I was thinking I may have to break down and buy a new set, but I wanted 18/10 and that tends to be pricey. THANK YOU WOOT! Yay.

Don't forget Oneida offers a pattern saving program called Patterns Forever. If you register your set with them, they will keep the pattern for you forever, even if it gets retired out of production. Can't beat that! You will always be able to replace your pieces! Also, if you have an old set you can't identify, they're willing to do it for you--see here for more info about that.

I have a different set (Taraza) that we got as a wedding present, and I love it. One spoon even fought the garbage disposal on accident and survived! There are a few knicks in the end, but no major damage.

Registering for gifts at chains helps you realize just how good some of woots deals are.

Now sadly, my future inlaws have to buy us flatware at twice the price

Yeah, a big pain! Even if you store in one of those fancy boxes, it still has to be polished.

I am in for Carolina...this is a great deal (about a 50% discount) and Mrs. K. and I have been discussing getting new flatware.

This will replace an Oneida set we got as a wedding present in 1995, most pieces still look good, none ever rusted. The reason we've wanted to replace is that we've lost pieces over the years and of course some of the most used (like the forks) have gotten dull.

Most of my woots have been inexpensive or impulse purchases, but this was the first perfectly timed sale!

Oneida has headquarters in Oneida NY, their branded products are made in Indonesia, Vietnam, China, etc. Oneida no longer operates manufacturing in the United States.

Thanks for the Oneida information! Unfortunately, none of the three patterns offered here are in the Patterns Forever program. That's why I'm getting two sets, to have replacements ready - not that I plan to use 24 settings at once!

Pretty sure I'm in for at least one...But I do wish that the flatware manufacturers would do us all a favor and include DOUBLE the number of teaspoons compared to the other pieces...They always end up in the garbage disposal, outside in the garden, or they simply disappear. If you then buy an entire new set, you have way too many of the other pieces.

These patterns are pretty basic, but not bad.

They can go in the dishwasher, right? I got some utensils at Bed Bath and Beyond that have to be hand washed or they spot and discolor.

Oh, and p.s. - I am VERY relieved that these are traditional forks and not 3-tine forks, which come directly from Satan. Forks should have 4 tines only, otherwise the food will poison you.

I received an Oneida 65-piece set (Chandler) in a Bunnies Ogling Carrots last year. Made an excellent gift for the Mother-in-Law. She loves it and has used the whole set plenty of times in the past year and they are still looking good even with some rough use by the grandkids. Oneida is a great way to go.

Amazon.com prices:

Carolina (the geometric design): $149.99
Maderno (the scrolls at the bottom: $129.99
Mandolina (the scrolls on the sides): $149.99

Good quality, lifetime warranty, VERY good price. I bought two sets. Hopefully, I won't have to do so again for decades.

The three pictures showing each style laid out on the napkin are photoshopped. The folds in the napkin are absolutely identical. Especially the nearly accidently ones at the base of and top of the left dinner fork. Additionally, every piece is laid out in the exact same relation to the other. Salad fork is a 1/2" up and barely touching the dinner fork, salad fork is barley all on the napkin, etc. Just for example.

Is that rust/corrosion on the bottoms of the Carolina set?? And this is right out of the box??

Picture got cut off for some reason. You can see more on the pictures from woot homepage.

When I moved, in late December, I bought a large set of flatware on the cheap (18/0). Figured I could get a year out of them before they started going to hell....they are already starting to rust.

This is a no brainer for 18/10 quality.

I love real silver. I like the way it feels in your hand. However, right now Sterling is a terrible financial investment. Silver prices are sky high and eventually that bubble will burst. Buy stainless today and wait for the bottom to fall out of the silver market when the speculators realize the predictions of runaway inflation are grossly exaggerated. Never forget March 27, 1980.

When shopping for flatware now is the time to think utility, not investment.

Untrue! My family eats off our heirloom solid sterling silver flatware and never polish it. I mean, it looks like crap, sure, and most people'd rather just eat off the clean-looking Oneida that's mixed in with it... but it's dishwasher safe, at least...

Actually, what the heck's wrong with my family...
